new to this kidney cancer

last july they found a mass on my left kidney hence in aug they removed the whole kidney and said that they got all the cancer with it. intill3 weeks ago i started getting pains all around the site where they took the kidney plus the orther side. they told me it was from the surgey but later after a lung scan they found more cancer in both lungs plus my liver and in the same spot where they took the kidney out from i am 46 years old never had this before and wondering if this has happened to any one else. will be starting chemo in 4 days if some body could tell me what to expect and how to deal with whats coming ahead for the would be great thanks wondering in longisland

    I'M SURE THAT THIS HAS BEEN VERY FRIGHTENING FOR YOU TO SAY THE LEAST. ARE YOU SEEING A KIDNEY CANCER SPECIALIST? KIDNEY CANCER IS UNLIKE MOST OTHER CANCERS AND TYPICAL TREATMENT IS NOT THE SAME. HOPEFULLY YOU ARE GOING TO A CANCER CENTER OR RESEARCH HOSPITAL. IF YOU GO TO THE KC SITE YOU CAN PULL UP SITES AND DOCTORS VERY FAMILIAR WITH THIS. KEEP A COPY OF ALL YOUR RECORDS FOR YOURSELF AND STAY ON TOP OF ALL THE DEVELOPMENTS. I WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU. THIS SITE HAS A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THINGS VERY MUCH THE SAME AS YOU. MY FATHER WAS DISAGNOSED WITH TERMINAL KIDNEY CANCER IT HAD SPREAD TO HIS BONES, LUNGS ETC AND GIVEN 6 WEEKS TO LIVE. HE WENT ON INTERFERON (BACK THEN IT WAS EXPERIMENTAL) AND HE LIVED ANOTHER 15 YEARS TO DIE AT 79! THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE.

    thankyou for your response i have a good hospital here in newyork with 4 doctors working on it but thanks for you insight i know i am going to beat this thing they are starting on this chemo called kemar it just came around 6 months ago they say and has had a 40 percent rate will let you know how it goes thanks again
