Waiting on biopsy

I am a 37 year old female and I am waiting for an appointment with a general surgeon to have a lymph node biopsy. Here’s some background…I have had some achiness and swelling in my armpits for a few months, along with achiness along my collar bone, jaw, neck, and the back of my head. I also have slightly enlarged nodes in my groin area that are also achy. I occasionally run a fever between 99.9 and 100.9. Also, I am exhausted beyond belief all of the time and my throat has been sore. I have been tested for just about everything. Normal CBC, and metabolic panel. Tested for TB, mono (had in the past, but not active, I was around 16 when I had it), hiv, syphilis, flu a and b, strep, Lyme disease, all hepatitis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis…Everything has been negative. I don’t have any other health problems and I have not been sick for at least a year. The only thing was that about 8 months ago I had Moh’s surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma near my eye. I haven’t had “drenching“ night sweats. I have lost almost 40 pounds since April, but I have been working at it. I had a mammogram and ultrasound and the only remarkable finding was a lymph node measuring 2.5 x 1.5 x 3.3 with normal morphology. She only scanned my right side (because I thought I felt a lump there) and didn’t really get into my armpit where I can feel other nodes. Anyway, I guess my question is, is there anything else I could be tested for? Is it normal for lymphoma to cause this achiness? Is it normal to go straight to a biopsy without more imaging tests first? I know you can’t diagnose, I guess I’m just getting restless and really hoping for an explanation other than lymphoma.

Where is the lymph node being biopsied? When you say “she scanned only my right side” is that a CT scan ot just ultrasound?

following a mammogram. I have several large nodes in both armpits that I can feel and in my groin. I have not met with the surgeon yet and I don’t know which node will be biopsied.

I AGREE WITH SHADY GUYS COMMENT AS WELL. LIKE TO ADD THERE IS A LOT WORSE THINGS THAN LYMPHOMA. I CAN JUST IMAGINE WHAT IS GOING THROUGH YOUR MIND WITH THE THOUGHTS OF CANCER IN YOUR BODY. BELIEVE ME WE ALL WENT THROUGH IT. I REMEMBER WHEN I HEARD THOSE WORDS BACK IN 2010. MY MIND WENT BLANK AND FOGGY. AFTER FINDING THIS SITE THINGS STARTED TO GET BETTER LITTLE BY LITTLE. LYMPHOMA IS A CANCER MANY LOOK AT AS A CHRONIC DISEASE AND IF AND WHEN IT COMES BACK THERE ARE OTHER STEPS TO TAKE TO KNOCK IT DOWN AGAIN. THEY ARE MAKING STRIDES EVERYDAY IN THIS FIELD OR SO I HEAR. THINGS WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE THE SAME AFTER SUCH A DIAGNOSIS, BUT IT'S SOMETHING WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH AND MAKE THE MOST OF. IT WILL ALWAYS BE IN THE BACK OF OUR MINDS.

NOW, AS WE STAND WE DO NOT EVEN KNOW IF THIS IS YOUR DIAGNOSIS OR NOT AND HOPEFULLY IT IS NOT. SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO FORCE THESE DRS. TO TAKE OTHER TEST. IF THE DR IS STUBBORN ABOUT IT I WOULD FIND SOMEONE ELSE. IT IS YOUR BODY AND YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH IT. ANOTHER BUG IN YOUR EAR IS STAY OFF THESE WEBSITES ABOUT LYMPHOMA. THEY ARE USUALLY OUTDATED AND CAN SCARE YOU TO DEATH...BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT !!! THERE ARE PEOPLE AS YOU WILL SEE RIGHT HERE THAT ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND CAN HELP CLUE YOU IN AS TO WHAT TO EXPECT. I READ THESE POSTS FAIRLY OFTEN AND AM AMAZED AT SOME OF THE INFO AND KNOWLEDGE THEY HAVE.

PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED AS TO WHERE ALL STANDS
