Biopsy

My cyst on my ovary turned out to be a metastasis from Appendix Cancer; the cyst on my kidney has been nothing (remains unchanged after 10 years.)  You may want to ask about a biopsy or removal of that ovary.

Or ask why they are not confirming with a biopsy.  I'd been complaining about issues for several years before my gyn did my hysterectomy which found my cancer.  I think he felt bad because in retrospect, he realized there were things he should have caught.  However, I'm glad mine was found when it was, because I ended up getting connected with the right doctors, which might not have happened a few years earlier, and I know that the cancer had spread MANY years earlier, well before there was enough evidence to indicate a need to investigate.  (I always had ovulatory pain, so severe pain in my right side was nothing unusual.  Thus, we never knew when my appendix actually ruptured and spewed out the cancer.  At my hysterectomy, it was fully re-healed, with no indication that it had ever ruptured.  My cancer would never have been found before the rupture anyway.  If he'd done surgery sooner, the tumor might not have grown enough to be recognized as such, and I wouldn't have been treated.)

That said, ask your dr why they are comfortable without doing a biopsy.  You also have the right to get a second opinion, from a dr not affiliated with that same medical group.

my GP is drawing a ca125. I figure it’s a start to see how high or low I am. I know it’s not 100% accurate, but if high then I have good grounds to request biopsy. Thank you for everything!

 I put it on a separate topic so others who always have the same questions as you are having now can be helped as well.  These will help if it is determined that you indeed have Ovarian Cancer.  I didn’t mention “kidney” cancer, so the diagnosis could well be “kidney cancer with metastasis to the ovaries” but we certainly pray not!  Sounds like you’ve not been given any certainty at this point as to what your actual diagnosis is.  We hope you’ll find all the answers soon.  When I have a CA-125 test, it usually takes two or three days for the results.  So you may not know the moment you go in for the test, what the actual number is.  But that’s only a part of finding the problem, so we wish you all the best. 

 You’re young and have 4 little lives who need their mother to be healthy.  So you have to “get to the bottom of these problems ASAP.
