All,

I've been very busy between work and treatments and a spring vacation.  I am continuing to receive Erbitux every two weeks and I'm continuing to deal with the Erbitux rash. I did skip a treatment for spring vacation and my skin did a little recovering in that time. But the rash is coming back on once again as my last treatment was on 4/16.

I am so saddened by the news of Craig's passing. He truly shared his heart on this forum.  Thank you Craig for sharing encouraging, insightful, and engaging stories with us all.  You once told me that if I write from my heart it will be good. And it was so obvious that is exactly what you did! You opened up your heart to us all and we are all the better for it.

You will be missed my friend!  Rest in peace!

My CEA continues to be "Under 1.0" since my 12/5/2014 surgery.  I just completed a CT scan this past Wednesday but don't have the official results as of yet.  The surgeon (follow-up visit) did look it over and reported that it looked clear to him. But he added that the radiologist will do a much more thorough review. So I'm waiting until next Thursday for the ofificial results during my oncologist appointment.

One downside of getting better is my appetite is back and I've gained back the weight I lost during surgery. I really need to watch what I eat!

Blessings to you all and hugs to you all during this sad time.

Sincerely your friend,

Phil64

I made sure to ask my oncologist (with my WIFE present) if I can have a beer now and then.  :-)  And I do have a beer now and then.  Not nearly as often as I might have in the past. lol

I really want to get it out. But it has been cold in Michigan. I think some warmer days are heading my way and I will be on it... I know what you mean about feeling free. I need that feeling.

We did have a great vacation. I wish every week could be vacation. But I guess it wouldn't be vacation without the work surrounding it. :-)

OK, I don't know if thats an expression over here or back home in England.

I am so happy to hear that things are going along smoothly with your CEA and look forward to your post this week saying that your scan results are good aswell.

I totally understand about the weight thing. Its a constant battle, when really it shouldn't be. But, if we enjoy food, then I think we should enjoy it. I have decided to have special food days. Saturday donut up the canyon. If I don't go up the canyon then no donut. Only English chocolate, which I get in Reno. A place I don't go often, so I don't get it often. Dessert only when my boys come over for dinner. Things like that seem to be helping me, as opposed to having something every day.

Its great to see your face here on the forum.

Hugs!

allowed two alcoholic drinks a day by my doc. He feels the alcohol cancer link has never been proven, he does prefer red wine to beer though. My largely vegetarian fish diet has kept my weight in check plus I don't have a sweet tooth. He also feels the sugar cancer link has not been established either. It's funny how we hear every opinion under the sun but no one knows for sure  what we should eat. I splurge every once in a while, I don't think it's that big a deal, especially on vacation! Gotta live right? And I do love food! Exercise is the best way to keep your weight down, everyone agrees about that and it's better for our overall health, but I'm lazy too! I think I'll skip the gym and go have a beer! Lol

I remember a tale a chef told about loosing weight. He truly dietedd 29 days a month, but one a month he ate any and all that he wanted. That satisfied him, and he still managed to loose  the wieght that he wanted.  It's not how much, bur rather how ofte!!!

Thanks Richard.  I agree that Exercise is key.  I just need to prioritize this. It's hard with having a 14 year old playing baseball three times a week and working 40 to 50 hours per week, and preparing the house for upcoming weddings and wedding showers, and needing to break out my lawn tractor this weekend (three acres of lawn to mow), and... Oh yah, I want to ride my Harley too... lol

You know what I mean.

I am good at EXCUSES???

I take this as "NED", so this is really good news. I am always happy to see good news.
