Thanks for posting
Congratulations!!! I have an increasing CEA level (since last few FolFox treatments and post treatments). My CEA last tested at 40. I have had CT of Chest, Abdomen, and Pelvis and that shows clear. I have had another colonoscopy (Monday) and that shows clear. I'm scheduled for another PET scan and MRI of liver on 1/17. The Onc is concerned about the rising CEA levels but we can't find any tumors so far. I was diagnosed with Stage IV in June. So far I've had a colon and lung resection. If the CEA level was down I'd be celebrating but given the rising CEA I am concerned and worried.

surgery question?
I am glad that you are NED for some time now janderson1964 that makes me hopeful for the future. I am currious tho i keep reading about people having surgeries and that seems to help why havent the Dr. wanted to do surgery on me yet? does that mean that i dont have as advanced stage 4 as you guys or does it mean that it is just in to hard of a spot to get to, or do they not want to do it because it is not worth it? I know that i have several large masses on my liver that are growing instead of shrinking and they are concerned about that. do you think that could be the reason why?

Hi Zach...have you asked about surgery? My husband hasnt had surgery yet either. Seems they try to shrink the tumors with chemo first...tho not in all cases it seems. Are they talking about trying a different chemo for you? -
