My mother is (was) a healthy 81 year old, we found out yesterday she has stage 4 lung cancer. |

I also never smoked but was raised in a household of smokers. I have laryngeal cancer that has metastasized to the lungs. Just starting on the lung journey myself. I don't have much advice to offer. I am trying to improve my diet, and I hope this will make a positive difference. Rick.

Did they perform mutation
Did they perform mutation tests? As a non smoker there is a strong possibility that she is EGFR + and that they can prescribe Tarceva for her. It is not without side effects but I understand those are manageable. It is also easier on her than chemo or radiation. Of course that is a big if.....
