I have a subscription to "The Family Handyman," and they explained what a Field Editor is/does as a do-it-yourselfer.
"Field Editors contribute tips, share their wisdom (and goofs!), answer questions, test products and help us create content for...(the magazine)."

Sounds like kidney cancer patients on this board to me.

Certainly sounds very apt to me. Is that a tool belt you're wearing, Donna?
For my money, you're one of our top Field Editors.
