I'm going to find me again! I intend on enjoying every second of every day until that next scan. I'm thinking a good book and lots of cold air conditioning enough to need a blanket...yes, I know it defeats the airs purpose but it's so cozy and comforting! :)

Enjoy your beach AGAIN... (jealous...yes) :) and the Olympics!

Just relaxing growing those platetlets so I can continue with chemo #11 om Tuesday. Maybe some sewing, no maybe lots of sewing. I just had my sewing studio put in. Gorgeous - I have ALWAYS wanted one. Now I did it. Feels great. Feels empowering. Feels relaxing. Step 1 to making big changes in my life!

A sewing studio! I hope you enjoy lots and lots of hours in it. I have a stitching room - I do cross stitch. I just hope yours doesn't end up messy and um...cluttered like mine does on occasion. I really need to clean mine...but it can wait.

I've got friends from Arizona visiting this week. The "baby sister I never had" and her kids are here. Yesterday we walked around downtown where they have painted pony statues on display, then went to the dinosaur park. Wore me and my dog right out! Not sure what's on the agenda today, other than going in for another magnesium infusion. If I get down early enough, I think we'll go out to Promontory Point, where the Golden Spike that linked the first intercontinental railroad was driven. If not, well do that on Saturday and go up the nearby canyon to the beach (it's at a reservoir.) They'll be going back to Arizona on Monday and this will probably be our last visit, so we're going to pack in as much fun as possible and I'll spend next week recovering. But it'll be well worth it!

Is where you fish from the beach (in the surf) We call it surf fishing here. Can drive on the beach, so pull up cast out a bait as far as you can. Place rod in a holder and sit and wait.
Never know what you'll catch either.

My children and I finished our back to school shopping today. This weekend we plan to just take it easy and maybe have an evening of playing board games or working on a puzzle - we have a 4,000 piece that my 11 year old is wanting to start. I'll have to see if it will fit on the dining room table.

My parents are flying in from FL for a visit (planned before I got sick) on Monday. So I need to get the guest suite ready.

And as usual, I will probably work on my needlework at some point this weekend.

This is when the ankle definition disappears and it becomes the same size as the lower part of the calf. Usually due to swelling or fluid retention.

I will leave it to Kenny to tell you about surf fishing!

Still feel like I have been hit by a semi truck. It didn't hit me until 2 days after infusion, but this is the 2nd day of feeling like crap. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and maybe chemo #3 will be easier! FOLFOX sucks the life out of you!

Got my weekend off to a great start with going to the races at Saratoga. I was with a friend of a horse owner, so we had paddock passes, which was fun

Then off to a concert in an amphitheatre - Philadelphia Orchestra with the "Symphonie de la Cirque" - circus performers who perform to the orchestral music. What a fabulous evening!

Tomorrow, husband comes back from 10 days scuba diving in Belize. Maybe we'll go kayaking on Sunday!

Daughter and husband came home from Belize yesterday - they had a wonderful trip! We went to another orchestral concert at that amphitheatre - Philadelphia Symphony playing Rossini (William Tell Overture), Dvorak (Cello Concerto) and Rimsky-Korsakov (Shaherazade). Lovely evening.

However... this morning, trying to figure out why a particular load of laundry keeps coming out smelling like dead fish (other loads have been fine; I rewashed this load, it got worse.) I finally pulled everything out of the washer piece by piece, until a large piece of stringy lint fell on the floor. I picked it up, and it turned out to be a dead mouse. Must have gotten into my washer, and then caught up in the clothes. Needless to say, I shrieked! Rewashed the clothes twice in hot water with bleach; I'm doing okay now.

However, it did put a damper on the fun of my weekend.

Well, I have had a little more excitement than I planned for.

This morning as I was rushing to answer the phone, I twisted my ankle. When I heard a popping sound and the swelling started immediately, I knew I was in trouble.

Fortunately I got to the emergency room during a lull...not unheard of to wait 4 or more hours to be seen.

Bottom line is that I have a tendon which has pulled away from the bond, taking a tiny chip of bone with it...so officially a broken ankle. Sent home with a half cast until the swelling goes down and then will have a walking cast for 4 weeks or so.

Now I am home trying to get around on crutches, after having taken a pain pill at the hospital...lol...will have to try not to break the other leg!

While not the way I recommend spending a Sunday, could have been worse...so I will just go with the flow and be good to myself until I am back on two legs.
