What is special for YOU this weekend; what are YOU grateful for this weekend? Or just for today?? Sorry to make you all hate me up north, but tomorrow I will be having sand in my toes and they say 80 degrees. I love you all...I can send bags of white sand!

Morning Eric...
Strange how one day can make a difference. Jr. is not well today. He can't eat anything, doesn't want to talk with anyone or see anyone just wants to rest. He has to take that morphine for his pain. He has been having much pain.
One day he seems to be doing so well and the next he can be right back down. As you know it is a fight every day.
Here it is cloudy chance of rain and just plain gloomy. I so miss my son, (hope it's okay to say that here). So I feel for those of you who have suffered your own loss.
So I guess I could use some of that white sand and 80 degrees and the sunshine. Please send plenty of sunshine!!

I feel every day God gives
I feel every day God gives me is a great day. I beleive in facing a serious illness, I came to the reality of how precious each moment is. I pray I never take life for granted again.
I'm thankful today for a beautiful sunny day here in Atlanta. Going out to shop with a list of my grands christmas wants and hope it will be an easy task. There's always at least one item that's hard to find.
William,we never had a fireplace--don't you know santa has a magic key? Hoping this key will open peace and joy for all during this christmas season.
Eric, will be looking forward to tomorrows post. Praying the meds will continue controlling the pain.

Good morning everybody
Well my Saturday morning was spent at phone school trying to learn how to use my new Android phone. I guess you really can teach an old dog new tricks!
This afternoon I'm spending time with friends and I'm sure we'll be discussing the latest winter weather advisory. It's not supposed to be too bad but I guess that's a pretty subjective statement. On Christmas Day, I'll be flying to our home in Mesa Arizona and I'm definately looking forward to the warmth!
Rose, I'm sorry Ray is having a bad day but you're right, it seems like 2 steps forward then 1 step back sometimes. Hopefully, tomorrow will be another 2 steps forward.
Sandra, you are absolutely right on to not take life for granted!
William and Loretta - I actually did LOL at your BMW joke!
Eric - where is your wife? She's been a bit of a stranger on here lately.

Rock Star ! Happy Saturday to you!
We are at Oaklawn Hospital for Don to have his PET Scan and I'm just checking in to see how everyone is doing today. This morning I went out and shoveled off the patio and steps and actually I got to see some sand also - the sand that is supposed to be around our brick patio - think I went too deep with the shovel! Would much rather have my toes in the sand like you!
William provided me some very welcomed information early this morning - he is indeed a wealth of information. I love to see your posts - it's like a cool breeze in hell - so please keep 'em coming. My daily routine is to check this board a few times each day to get udates and see how everyone is doing - very comforting for me and I learn more and more each day.
Have a great time playing in the sand and if at all possible, see if you get some of that sunshine and warmth to come up to Michigan ok?

Spent yesterday running around trying to update our wills and register with a new family doctor. Our beloved family doctor announced she was closing her practice 2 days before Bill was diagnosed so a whole crowd of people are registering with new doctors. Found out yesterday that all the Docs in our town require you have to have a doctor appt to meet the doctor before they consider you registers with them (was not the case 20 years ago) and they could not see Bill till January 19th. So not only does he have nowhere to go for his 2 weekly proton tests (to do with his coumadin), but we have no doctor to give as a contact for M D Anderson. Great timing.
Today is cold and wet. Washing clothes and stuff to get ready to leave on our fun (ha ha) trip to Houston monday. looking forward with some trepidation to the Bedlam (Oklahoma State/OU) game tonight that will decide the big 12 conference. Go OSU!!
Enjoy the sand between your toes. I have always wanted to live by the ocean. Enjoy your day.

Everlovin' Saturday
Well, today, I get to go down to the Tire Store (Les Schwab) and get 4 studded snow tires for my little Kia. That's important because its about 180 miles over the Cascade Mountain Range to get to Seattle and see the doctors at the U of W. I'm hoping to get the radiation and chemo here locally though, so I can sleep in my own bed, and not incur any more expenses than necessary.
It's about 29 degrees here in Moses Lake, just a bit on the cool side. If I were to go outside and stick my toes in the sand, I'd freeze them off. So enjoy, Eric.

I normally wouldn't post this, but it's so nice to see someone esle say go OSU! My hubby and stepson graduated from Oklahoma State, so we're anxiously awaiting tonight's game. Wouldn't it be awesome to go to a BCS Bowl???
Just this morning when I got up, I asked my hubby if he remembered where I was 2 years ago today. Right in the middle of my chemo/radiation treatments prior to surgery. Boy, was I ever a sick gal then--didn't feel good at all. The combo of chemo and rads really kicked my butt. I am so thankful that I feel good now and am doing great.
BTW, as always, Eric, it's good to hear from you.

A special day
Well today is kind of a “special day” for me because two years ago today, I was on the operating table at Medical University of South Carolina having my insides re-arranged.
My wife and I have a Saturday routine. We get up later (around 8 AM) and kind of laze around the house until about 9 AM when we go out for breakfast. It was a cool morning today around 37 degrees but a sunny day so it warmed up quickly to about 60 degrees. The nice thing about South Carolina is that most days are sunny, and although it gets cool at night in the winter, the days are usually fairly nice.
The other part of our Saturday routine is that I wash our cars and my wife does some baking and then we go for a walk with our little puppy Missie.
I guess I am in kind of a reflective mood today, thinking about the wonderful gift of time, companionship, and love that I have received over the last two years.
Finally; I really understand what is important in life.
Isn’t it a shame “we are so soon old and so late smart?”
The rest of my Saturday routine includes snoozing in my recliner and going out to dinner later.
So I guess as people say around here “just another day in paradise”

Happy 2 year anniversary. What a wonderful landmark to have reached. This thing really does give us a kick in the rear about what is important in life doesn't it. It reminded me how much I love Bill and how much I want him to be around.
By the way, my son moved to SC for a job last December (now I think of it, I think today is his one year anniversary of arriving in Charleston). He loves it. Enjoy today in paradise.

My hubby and I really like South Carolina. We actually thought about moving there several years back and I interviewed for a teaching job in Beaufort. We're hoping to return to Charleston for a vacation before too much longer.

Here in Kansas, it's cool and rainy with colder weather on the way. We put on the flannel sheets yesterday and got the outside Christmas decorations up before the cooler wetter weather arrived. Today, my husband has gone to Kansas City with friends to a Radio Control Airplane swap meet. I've played some online bridge and done chores. Tonight, we're going out to dinner to celebrate our oldest granddaughter's 16th birthday!!! (We're still finding that amazing--how time flies!) A good day!

Christmas concert today
Nick, my son, and I had the joy of watching my daughter participate in a Christmas Chorale. The Iowa Youth Choir is made of 3 different school aged choirs from the Des Moines, and 2 smaller choirs from towns in the rural 'burbs. Really talented kids!
Dinner out afterwards. Nick has found Fetticine Alfredo a perfect meal for those so-so stomach days. Me & the kids? Anything Italian is **good**
Glad there are so many GREAT days out there! I appreciate y'all sharing! and oh... Thanks much for mentioning Beaufort, SC. Used to visit friends there often when I lived in the Atlanta area. Beaufort is a wonderful place - full of very fond memories.
@Rose - Junior is in our thoughts and prayers daily! Hoping that tomorrow is a good day for him again. Positive thoughts to you as well!

Sunday and sunny
65 today here at the beach this morning was still in the 50s walking the dog but lots of critters out and lots of christmas lights and decorations.Coming over the bridge to work was serene as usaul. Am waiting for my pet scan end of the month suspect it will not be good news since having alot of stomach trouble and leg and back pain. Suspect its getting close to hospice time just to get things rolling.VIcodine doesnt do a thing anymore just trying to gut through december and reaccess. Glad your feeling good hope michelle is recharging her batteried and you both have a great bech day Meg Mac0 -

I'm so glad to hear that so many of you are enjoying nice weather....... (can you read my sarcasm?) Here, it's cold and rainy, and the weather guys say that this is going to be a really, really, bad winter. I guess that with the lakes not freezing yet, the snow will be coming fast and furious. Last year we got 3 snow days in a row at work, which for Canada is very rare. We have more snow ploughs and road sanders than you can count, and they just could not keep up. So, we're expecting the same this winter..... Bah Humbug to all of you beach bunnies!
Other than that, I had a staff Christmas party last night, and actually had a good time. It felt weird to be there without Lee, he was always the life of the party......

We look forward to the occasional snow here in va beach everything comes to a dead stop since we have 2 snow plow for a city of millions and miles of interstate(they dont even bother with secondary road) school gets canceled easies the traffic jams.Glad you got to your staff party know it must have been bitter sweet without Lee Hopefully you can get through the holidays with friends and family Meg Mac0 -
