After 52 years of blow dryers, hair products and such, maybe I won't miss my hair all that much.
It came out in handfuls this morn, but on this journey, that is the norm.
So after a tear fell...I figured what the hell.
Things could always be worse, I always say, so wigged or bald, I will go out and proudly face the day!!

    Have fun with the Hair
Personally I am not really creative with the scarves or wigs, but I have seen some beautiful scarves. I had a friend that went for different styles with the wigs.
Its great that you have such an awesome attitude.

Sue, losing my hair was probably the worst part for me. Not so much because of a vanity issue but more because now I felt like I looked sick. But, once I realized the amount of time that was saved every day, it wasn't all that bad. Plus, I bought some beautiful pre-tied scarves from 4women.com that I wore daily in lieu of a wig. I'm in Florida and it was just too hot for a wig. You are a beautiful lady and you have a terrific positive outlook. Good luck to you!!

Sue...My thoughts and prayers are with you.You are a beautiful woman with or without hair so go out there and be proud. You are a fighter!!
Im not going to be to far behind you in hairloss and I know it is going to be very emotional for me also.
There are a few positive things about it that Eric has pointed out to me.
    1. we will save a ton of money on haircare products
    2. Not having to blowdry will save on electricity.
    3. It will not take me nearly as long to get ready to go out.
4.once my hair grows back everyone will get to see my natural color. lol
Gotta love my man, always looking for the good in everything.

    Much Love

Sue this is an email address you can write to and they will send you a complimentary, expensive, fashionable scarf: goodwishes@franceluxe.com You can log on to their website at franceluxe.com to view their different styles and then place your order for your free scarf. My hair started flying away in the wind, that was pretty funny. I wore my wig on holidays and special occasions. I eventually ended up going bald around the house an wearing an array of different scarfs that I puchased at Wal-Mart for 99Cents each.

I actually began to appreciate not having to "do my hair", it was so easy to throw on a scarf that matched my outfit and I was done. Of course I'm happy to have my hair back, but loosing it was not an issue for me.

    Sue,
I too did the hats and scarves. Baseball caps became my cap of choice, with a bandana underneath. Kinda rebel like...

I bought Johnsons baby shampoo when my hair started thinning, I then kept using it on my bald head in the shower and just last week I used the last of it. My hair is now grown back to about an inch and a half since mid January. I only post this to let you know that it does come back and nicely at that. Mine is just as thick as it ever was and girlfriend let me tell you about my cute chemo curls. I get so many compliments.. LOL I must confess I am back to that bottle blonde color though.

I am starting to need more time in my morning routines now, the hair does seem to monopolize a quarter of my "getting ready" time. I'm getting pretty creative with the gel and mousse.

You may have to sleep with one eye open if you hear that vacuuming sound. LOL

    Hugs,
    Lorrie

    Right on target!
Yep! Mine came out right about then too so I had it shaved and had lots of fun with scarves and hats. I had a wig but my journey started about this time last summer so I only wore the wig to church ("Cause I sing in the choir) and to dinners where I needed to have a modicum of dignity. ARound the house I just went bald but wore scarves and hats out in public. And don't forget to have some fun with long dangling earrings too. I have a whole collection now and still wear them. Fight like a girl!

I work with a young woman
who just lost all her hair. She is great with scarves, but some days she comes in with a fabulous pair of earrings and a big beautiful smile - no scarf. She's a hero to me! So, whatever you choose - wigs, scarves, baseball caps or earrings and a smile - your beauty and spirit will shine through.

    Wig fun
    Hi Sue,
I am not good with scarves, but I had lots of fun with wigs and hats after the initial trauma wore off. I have red hair, so I bought two wigs with red hair. Then, I bought one that was blond. And, I had several fashionable hats. Luckily, my chemo was in the fall-winter time. So, my head didn't get really hot...
And, my hubs was so funny...He told me that the bald lady "Veger" on one of the Star Trek movies was absolutely gorgeous, and he knew I would be too!

Bless you as you explore your options...And get a whole new look!

    Chemo WARRIOS ---
Miss Sue provided many wonderful sites - Thank you, Miss Sue.

I just wanted to make a suggestion here -- as this truly happened to me after I lost my hair during chemo.

I spent 15 min's outside maybe -- watering a little and picking up doggie poop! Later that very day, I ended up with SUNBURN on my newly bald scalp, back of my neck and ears! Oouchy.. So I made it a habit of using a sunscreen everyday there after. I live in Southern California, hot and sunny for months on end.

I also shampooed and conditioned my bald scalp on a regular basis ... then again, I looked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy's -- twin sister 0000 Seriously .. weight loss, weight gain, chemo, hormones .. Yep .. You got the picture --- not a pretty sight! LOL

You are all Beautiful, Strong, and Victorious -- fighting a battle, few will ever know.

    Strength, Courage and Hope.

    big loose
it is exactly right! day 14th seems pretty average, i was never attached to anything but my hair and i have to say it was a "biggy" but once i buzzed it felt just right, i live in NJ and it is so hot and humid so i lost it not that far ago just right on time for my 2nd round - i feel just fine, i go bald with lost of earrings and accesories and colorful dresses and i received so many cumpliments everywhere i go, we don't need to look sick! we are courageous sisters, a special breed fighting for life, i happen to like myself bald more than i ever did, I went to a funeral parlor the other night to pay my respects to a fine lady who lost the battle and NOBODY recognize me, everybody thought i was a fashionista from bloomingdales (they go blond and bold nowadays) - it took some time to everybody pinpoint who i was when i said "im cecilia i live across the street" then i become the center of the attention because althought "IM SICK" and everybody thinks im at home dying im able to pull trough and look good - Sue you are going to be just fine, there are so many ways to look terrific
    best wishes

I loved wearing scarves and never tied one because I figured I'd mess it up, so I purchased Beaubeaus and Titillating Turbans. I don't know which I like best - They're a different look. Both have gorgeous fabrics.

Headcovers.com has some great hats. Huge selection.

I learned to like wearing hats and scarves. Good thing for me since I still wear them.

    Enjoy your new look.

You can get surburned really easily so make sure to cover up when outside. The chemo changed my body chemistry so sunscreen was somewhat irritating but cotton scarves and hatswere great. I also continued to shampoo and condition every morning and used moisturizer on my scalp. My hair came out early but it also started growing back early. Best wishes to you!

that's a good attitude to have. Remember, your hair will grow back. I have to update my photo but I'm waiting til September when I will have it back to brown :D I'm almost 8 months out from chemo. My hair is still very curly and very white/gray. I've been coloring it for more than 20 years. I'm meeting east coast pink sisters in October. Since I don't work I didn't get a wig. I wore many hats.
