Nothing to be embarassed about, interest question
and subject. Not, myself - however, I think it may be your bodys way of re-generating tissue, and removing toxic matter from your body. Your body is restructing itself back to your 'norm' before breast cancer, and the drugs we take.
I don't know the side efforts of tomoxifen - however, there are many website to review -- What I would do .. is go to your pharmacy and get a print out which lists all side efforts.
Just a suggestion.

how old are you? I am 44 and have not had a period since treatment started in March 09 but have been warned that I am not "of menopausal age" and that IF I'm ever off treatment I would probably resume my periods. I will however, probably never be off treatment

I would get a 2nd opinion, and seek advise from another Gyno, if you have insurance! A peace of mind - is worth its weight in GOLD.

Has anyone here not taken post surgery meds like Tamoxifen? are there any statistics I wonder of those who dont' and those of us who do! health, side effects or lack of our side effects!0 -

Pink: went through early menopause like my mother (who did not have cancer). It had been about year prior to surgery (period) & I got if for ONE day week prior then not since...SO really close to 4 yrs...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my gyno...my daughter even goes to him-as well..
I dont' think I have ONCOLO appt for sometime-since I was just upped from every 3 mths to now every 4mths since things have been good!
MY gyno has been in phone contact with oncologist-said had nice long conversation recently0 -
I had spotting too and after
I had spotting too and after onc did a blood test to make sure I was in menopause (I was chemo induced) then sent me to OBGYN who did tests and finally a D&C. My onc took me off the Tamoxifen because I had family history of uterine cancer. He said just incase. He put me on Aromasin and I've had no further problems.0 -

Postmenopausal vaginal bleeding is concerning because it can be a sign of endometrial (precancer)or endometrial cancer. I don't know if your bleeding is a recent symptom or if you had D&C's after bleeding to look for cancer? And I am assuming endometrial biopsies were done?
Being on tamoxifen and having any unexpected vaginal bleeding is worrisome--make sure that your Gyn knows the below possible adverse reactions from tamoxifen.
I went through menopause shortly after being on tamoxifen and had irregular bleeding. It is normal ot have irregular bleeding shortly before menopause, but my Gyn chose to do several endometrial biopsies along the way anyway--better to be safe than sorry.

yes biopsies were just taken misc areas on MOnday...I should get a call today...MY last D & C was 5 wks ago so too long for it to be from that.
HE took me on (MY DR) monday am without an appt-I happened to be at a business side by side and walked in and he took me. (I THOUGHT he would) Mainly I stopped in since my job is in middle of lobby and can't TALK to a doctor privately anyhow.
both D & C biopsies came back GOOD-so not really worried or concerned and as I said above my ONCOLO & GYN have been talking on the phone!

I tried femera and anastrozole and had to stop both because of side effects, little things like not being able to breathe.
I've decided that I'm just putting it in God's hands (where it is anyway) and just keep praying that I don't have a recurrence. But I've also told myself that if I do, I'll have no one to blame but myself. I just couldn't stand the side effect though.

Chen's diagnosis does sound interesting and rather nice except for one thing, you will have to think birth control. LOL
I am glad that your doctor did a D&C as that is the best way to check for uterine/endo cancer and that the gyn and onc are in contact. Don't know if it could be from the tamoxifen or not.
I will keep good thoughts that this is just a weird random event or the beginnings of rejuvenation. LOL

44 is within the age that 'you' can go through menopause naturally. I did at 44 - that was 18 years before my IBC. It is on the younger side but definately not unheard of.

I was 11 years post menopausal when dx with bc and I told my gyn that I had been spotting for the previous week. He did an endometrial biopsy and sent me for ovarian ultrasound. All was ok. So, for you it sounds as if it may be a Tamoxifen side effect???? BTW - nothing is embarrassing on this board. lol

what a booster for me....where did you get your degree...
OK ON good news..I JUST got a call from my Dr...he sent out more biopsies on monday..he said ALL OK...con't with tamox and ok to wait to see my oncologist early March...
he has been in contact by phone and sent all lab info to her...!
so my youth is coming back..YIPPPPPE0 -
