OK...I confess...I don't have a list, but those of you who may not have posted in a while know who you are.

Each person who posts here becomes a part of the family and we get concerned when we don't hear from you for a while.

If you could just reply with a ...Happy Holidays...too busy to write...taking a break...whatever, we will take that.

Also, it would be great if you could sign up for the buddy list started by Nana b and LoriS.

Hoping all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year

Hugs to all,

Marie who loves kitties

IT would be interesting to know how many lurkers are out there looking over us. Ok, so if you post or don't post, please just say.

Happy holidays!

Nana B

The count off has started. No convo's, just happy holiday as Maire suggested.

To tell the truth, when I post a question I get more answers from my Facebook friends than I do on this board. I come to this board just to see if there are any discussions I might have some in put on, but mostly just come to look. There aren't many on this board that have appendix cancer so not too many can answer my questions. Even though there are some that more could answer, just seems that they don't want to.

Things have been so hectic in the past few months that I don't post as often as I once did.I have a load on me right now and my emotions are frail. I come on and post a few and then I feel drained....I just cannot stand to see suffering in any form.

I love you all and I will try to do better...correspond more or something.

Y'all have a very happy holiday! Can't wait to read a post about Kerry getting lumps of coal in his stocking...LOL!!

I to am not a regular poster. I do read others post daily and try to respond to ones I might contribute to. I really have little to add. I've been on chemo for going on 17 months. I have no upcomming scans and have been deemed inoperable by all drs I have seen. So I don't really have much to post about. I'm currently on a four week chemo break for the holidays. Since I tolerate the chemo pretty well, no questions there. I admit than when I need to talk I go to the chat feature of this site. I have friends there dealing with all types of cancers and days when I feel I'm reaching the end of my rope, they are there to just sympathize and agree with me. I don't mean to sound harsh or uncaring but when I'm feeling lousy or down about my situation I don't want a pep talk and my friends in chat understand that. Sorry to ramble on but that is one reason I don't post very much.
I do wish everyone here a grand and wonderful holiday. Heres to a happier and healthier 2011 for each and everyone of us.

Not necessarily. I haven't posted recently, yet I don't know who I am.
But, anyhow, happy holidays.

I guess I am a "lurker" now! I don't post much, but read every few days. Just had a scan done will get results next week. Mostly been busy trying to get into a Christmas spirit sort of mood - haven't been in a couple of years. sad. Used to be my favorite time of year, now I just dread it.

Hope you all have a great holiday season...

Hi all...I'm also a lurker that reads most of the posts at least 3-4 days a week. I keep all of you in my daily prayers. I'm going monday for my bloodwork and CEA 3 month check-up, I was diagnosed Feb 2008 with stage 3 rectal ca and I'm hoping for the best...so far everything has been clear and I'm hoping it stays that way.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!!

Denise

I guess I'm another lurker...I was once quite active during the time of my mom's illness..I found a great deal of support on this board, as well as the chatroom..She left us 7/09..and my life has forever changed since...holidays are rather tough..I read the posts on here 3-4 times a week...Although I barely know anyone on here anymore, you all remain in my thoughts and prayers...

Blessings to you all,

Dionne

I'm not on the list but, just checking in. Was busy baking all day yesterday. So proud of all the baking I got done. Pumpkin bread, banana nut bread, fudge, pnut brittle, cranberry nut loaf, cookies ... baked like crazy. My oldest son is coming into town today so I'm busy with our early Christmas this weekend since chemo is Monday. So hello board ... I'm still around just a bit busy. Feel the love!!!

I read a lot but only post occasionally. Its been a very hard year, last week I was at my mother-in-laws side when she passed away, only 2 months and 1 day after loosing father-in-law. We have lost 8 family members or friends this year, 6 of them to cancer. Then having my own cancer diagnosis on top of it all has made this a very rotten year!! Praying for better things to come in the new year, bring it on..

Merry Christmas,
Bonnie

Now that we have an Anal board, I do most of my posting there. Do not think for one moment that I have forgotten about the wonderful people on this board. I still read all of your posts and follow your progress. I am elated when there is good news and I have shared your grief at the loss of some wonderful people this year. I still recommend this forum to anyone that I come in contact with that I think may benefit from it.

I had stereotactic radiation for a liver met and chemo for pleual mets this year. Right now everything looks good. I have a PET scan next Wednesday and as expected I am feeling very anxious about it.

I will continue to keep all of you in prayer.

Merry Christmas,
Joanne

Hi Everyone,

I am so glad to see some people on the board who don't usually post. We are doing well and enjoying our time until Dick's next scan in January. Having some days of feeling a bit "normal" then other days knowing cancer can come out of the wood work again at anytime. Taking it one day at a time and trying to stay grateful.

Aloha,
Kathleen

Hello everyone. This has been a very special Holiday season this year. It seem's that with this being the first year with my diagnosis, it would be stressful and sad for me. For the very most part though, I have been my cheerful self with some sentimental emotions mixed in. I just want all of my friends and family to know how much I love and appreciate them. Making sure my little ones, age 9 and 11 have a very loving Christmas.

Hugs and kisses, Gail

I post when I think I can input, but mostly a daily lurker. I feel greatful to have found this site, it helps to keep me sane. I have great support, but no one knows or really understands your C state till you have experienced it. I thank all of you for your postings, you really do provide a great service and I know I may need your help in the future. So you regulars, pat yourself on your back, medals should be handed out. May the New Year bring progress in the C field for all our sakes.....Merry Christmas to all. Pat

I'll have to look at the buddy list.

Something sour hit me when I did my butt photo for dizz regarding the calendar. I sent them to her email and just never logged back on. I know that there are friends on FB and they would know I'm not dead. I know, no excuse for not logging in here...

I know I've been MIA for a while. I just needed to get out. I know if anyone understands, it's you guys. Between family and holidays it's been busy for me.

My daughter and I just returned from a vacation in Maui. That was special and will be very fondly remembered for the rest of my life. I think we did everything there might have been to do. It's truly paradise if you ever want to go.

My brother is doing worse with his cancer. Please, keep him in your prayers as well.

I have an appointment tomorrow to get my port flushed and to also get my CEA/CBC drawn as well as go to my surgeons and sign my consent for my 1 year followup colonoscopy which is happening next Tuesday (the 27th).

I've been fighting a little with my insurance company and also a lab that did my genetic testing about payments. Nothing serious, but a real drop through the crack in communication went on. More bills...

I'll try to be better and log in more often. I probably will now that my vacation is over and I'm back to work. Not promising anything though for the rest of the month. I'm scheduled double time for the next two weeks. :)

Love you guys.

Never posted much and have not in a long while. Still come on to read though often, think I probably always will. There is a special connection to people going thru the same thing even if we never meet. Devastated at the loss this past year of some special people here. Truly looked forward to seeing Donnas smiling face, Erics slightly sarcastic posts, and the so many others that have left. I am saddened but compelled to come back and see how others are doing. Have a happy Christmas and here's to a healthy 2011.

Merry Christmas to everybody. I have been checking in daily and just doing a few minutes of reading to make sure everybody is doing okay. I have been really busy trying to catch up on everything that took a back seat while battling the beast. We now have heat in the house again, so nice to not have to carry firewood into the house to stay warm. Seems strange having heat coming out of the vents. Also work has been busy for me, which is a good thing. Keeps your mind off of the minor aches and pains of daily life. This will be a really special Christmas since my scans all came back clear as you recall. Neuropathy is still a problem in the hands and feet and my short term memory has really gotten bad. Probably due to me taking on more stuff at work and home. All in all, life is darn good. Hope you all are doing as well as you can. Happy Holidays.

Haven't posted in a long while but have been lurking and noticed a lot of new faces. It seems like a really l o n g year since my dx Oct. 2009. Finished 11 of 12 tx of Folfox and had my colonoscopy a few weeks ago. Had 1 polyp which was snipped and doc recommended another procedure in 5 years. Am I going to live that long???? Scans have been clear and I pray everyday that it stays that way. I am driving cancer patients under the Angels on Wheels program and I have a lot of compassion and patience with them now. Funny how cancer can change your whole outlook on life! Do you think that God sent cancer our way to teach us a lesson? I am still bothered by neuropathy in hands and feet but I feel that it's a small price to pay for my life. This time last year I was scared and sick but you folks really helped me and I've come a long way. May you all have a blessed Christmas and a hopeful and healthy New Year. And for those of you on the Mainland, KEEP WARM!!!!!

I have rarely posted anything on this board, but I look at it at least once a week. Just reading everyone's comments has helped me deal with this monster.

A little history:

Diagnosed in August '08 with rectal cancer Stage 2 with no lymph nodes affected, 6 weeks 5fu via infusion pump plus radiation, surgery in Dec '08, removed rectum and most of decending colon, however, was connected back together. Had a temp iliostomy until Aug '09. Also had six months of chemo, 5fu and Leukivorin. In August '09 has temp iliostomy removed.

Since then have had 2 pet scans and two colonoscopies, all negative.

Only problem now is with poop control. Started doing a daily enema in oct'09 (dr suggestion) and now life is great again. I can go and do what I want without worry.
