Hi,I am used to going on the Breast Cancer board being I just got through Breast Cancer. They helped me so much while I was going through my treatments. So I thought I would try this board. My ex husband who is the father of both my kids had stomach Cancer. They removed his stomach a few months ago,and made a pouch for a stomach.Every time they start Chemo he gets really sick and they have to stop it.He is back in the hospital and they told him that Cancer is in the pouch, liver and kidneys. My lids just got close to him in the last year.My daughter is having a really hard time.Is their anything they can do now or is this the last stage?Being I am re married I don,t go see him much.I keep Praying for him and my kids. And help with the grandchildren so they can go be with him. Thanks for listning.

Hello Ppurdin and welcome to you. I was a caregiver for my dad. He had esophageal cancer. The tumor was very close to his stomach. He had 6 weeks of chemo and radiation in 2008. The ec went into remission for one year, and then went to his liver. Unfortunately, he passed away in March. It is very very hard to fight liver cancer. It is wonderful that the children have gotten closer to your ex husband. It is very important for them to keep a close relationship with him. If there is anything that can be done at this stage, the drs would be able to tell you that. My thoughts are that he would need more chemo and radiation. Continue to keep all lines of communication open and keep praying! Keep in touch.
