Since finishing all treatment about 3 weeks ago, I've been taking it easy and recouping from the burn of rad. I had a big spot on my neck and on my scar area. I spoke too soon when I said rads was a breeze. I had to nap every day. It's so nice to be rid of the blue pen marks and sticker tapes. Now I'm healed and meeting with oncologist end of the month. To all the new girls, there is light at the end of the long tunnel. I wish you well through your treatment.

    Glad that you are healing
Glad that you are healing from rads Laurissa. I always hated it when someone said that rads is a breeze, because they aren't for most. Take care of yourself and enjoy your life!

    Good to hear from you!
I, too, was knocked out by rads. And burned? Owweee! Time has taken care of the burns (I finished 3/5) but I started back to work on 3/8, so overcoming the fatigue took a while longer. Take it easy.

    Gentle hugs,

    Sue

    Laurissa, what good news to
Laurissa, what good news to hear. You kept on putting one foot in front of the other and now here you are at the finish line. I've watched your journey and you handled it like a brave trouper. When you get over the fatigue, hope you can celebrate and do something fun. Thanks again for sharing your good news.

    Surviving the big C
Have just discovered this site. Thought you may like to hear from someone who had their cancer op 20yrs ago come Nov this year. I had a lumpectomy op and chemo for 6 months then radiotheraphy for 6 weeks. My radiotheraphy was tiring but at least no burns I got off light. Chemo was not so good, but just caught a lot of colds with low immunity and feeling sick. Hair got thinner but didn't lose it (very lucky). Just try to look on bright side. The best thing is to be positive. I really believe that helps recovery a lot, a positive attitude! Hope this helps you.
