Just wondering what to expect. I am scheduled to have it on November 19th and am a little nervous. I've heard that it is really not that bad, but that some people do have some problems with swelling, etc. I am having it for a grade II Astrocytoma in my left temporal lobe. The doctor says that I am young enough and healthy enough to try to prevent the tumor from growing or maybe even shrink it, with no guarantees, of course. |

my husband had it 10 yrs.
my husband had it 10 yrs. ago. it lasted less than 5 min. the preparation time took much longer. things may have changed but he was put in a halo made to his measurements then secured on the bed of the machine and zapped. i will say that he was very tired but he had been beaten up by 5 weeks of radiation previous to this. it did shrink his tumor.

I guess I should consider
I guess I should consider myself fortunate, this is the only radiation I am going to have right now. From what I've read, most people don't have any problems afterwards. I'll have to post pictures of me in my halo after the procedure. Thanks for your reply!
