President Bush has declared that September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Why hasn't the American Cancer Society acknowledged this in their most recent edition of the Cancer Survivors Network? I want to make a guess, in October they will let us know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am glad they will do that because breast cancer is a killer that we need to beat. But why is ACS blind to prostate cancer? |

I second your comment.
I second your comment. Though September is supposed to be Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, I am hard pressed to find a walk, a run or anything that will call attention to this disease. Though I realize it has been said that prostate cancer awareness is where breast cancer was 10 years ago, it mystifies me why and I wonder what will aggressively change that. More attention by celebrities, big "male" oriented venues such as Home Depot, Sports Authority, ESPN focusing time and money in that direction?
