September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

President Bush has declared that September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Why hasn't the American Cancer Society acknowledged this in their most recent edition of the Cancer Survivors Network?
I want to make a guess, in October they will let us know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am glad they will do that because breast cancer is a killer that we need to beat.
But why is ACS blind to prostate cancer?

I second your comment.
I second your comment. Though September is supposed to be Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, I am hard pressed to find a walk, a run or anything that will call attention to this disease. Though I realize it has been said that prostate cancer awareness is where breast cancer was 10 years ago, it mystifies me why and I wonder what will aggressively change that. More attention by celebrities, big "male" oriented venues such as Home Depot, Sports Authority, ESPN focusing time and money in that direction?
