MY HUSBAND WAS DIOGNOSED WITH NSCL ANDENCARCINOMA IN FEB '04. HE HAS HAD 33 RADIATION TREATMENTS AND 3 DIFFERENT TYPES OF CHEMO SINCE THEN. HE STARTED WITH TAXOL/CARBOPLATIN THEN GEMZAR/NAVELBINE AND WAS THEN PUT ON ALIMTA JAN 05,WHICH HE RESPONDED AND WAS STABLE WELL UNTIL NOW. HE HAS METASIS TO LIVER AND MASS ON LUNG WHICH IS ENLARGING AGAIN. HAS ANYONE BEEN THRU THIS LIKE THIS? DR IS NOW GOING TO PUT HIM ON CITSPLASIM/TAXOTERE. CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE SURVIVAL CHANCE AND TOLERANCE CAN BE. WHAT AM I LOOKING AT. THE DR JUST WAS A LITTLE MORE CONCERNED THIS TIME BECAUSE OF THE GROWTH. CAN THERE STILL BE TIME LEFT AND HAS ANYONE LIVED STAGE IV FOR A LONG TIME. i AM JUST SO SCARED OF WHAT MAY BE. ANY HELP WOULD SURELY BE APPRECIATED.

Hi there. Wow what a story. What was the size of your primary lung tumor before it went to the brain? Was that resected or is it still in the lung?

The 1cm LUL primary was found on work-up after discovery of brain mass. Had a focal seizure on 10/30/1999 and went for MRI later that day. Was stage4 from day one, lung to brain.
Neurosurgeon, Thoracic surgeon and Onco said: We'll classify you as stage4b, resect the tumors, little chemo and cure you!
My reply? Do you think this brain tumor made me STOOPID, too? I'm a dead man!
Bottomline: God doesn't want me, yet

    Hello

Glad to hear your doing good. I'm hoping maybe you can help me. My dad was just diagnosed with state 4 cancer (lung cancer that mestasized to the femur bone). He has a weak heart and we held off on the operation because the anesthestia put my father at a great risk of losing him during the surgery. Any suggestions or info. that you have?

    Ace et al,
I'll be happy to, if possible but, need more details. Your location, under care of cancer center, which one, etc?
Lot of bad info out there, ESPECIALLY, high profile centers but, I won't mention them here.
