She will be making up herbs designed just for me... for what I want my body to do and be. I am just so excited to try something new. Even if it don't help..cancer wise... it sure as heck ain't gonna hurt...anything! Oh yea.... just started juicing... very minimal.... mostly fruits with a few veggies here and there. Keeping it on the low down for now. I love the juice... that was a BIG surprise for me!!! JUICING ROCKS!!!!

Yay Jennie!
Hi Jennie,
I'm glad to hear you excited about this!
You talk about the big decision you have to make in a couple of weeks- chemo or not.
I've got my next scan coming up on Feb. 16th & I just found out my CEA is now up to 279 (taken at a blood draw right before having chemo this past Tuesday). That's not sounding so good. I don't know why I can't feel confident in making a decision about chemo or not. I have been doing the supplements, but feel like maybe they rendered my recent chemo ineffective. The gal who I see says that what I've been taking is working on flushing the chemo out of my system & really can't work on the cancer cells until all the chemo is gone. Makes sense to me, but still scares me to death! I've been praying about it- I don't know what to do. I really, honestly, would like to go whole-hog with the supplements, juicing, and zapping and stop the chemo, but I'm scared. I'm scared either way, I guess. Maybe it will just take my scan results to give me the kick in the pants. We shall see...
You go girl, and I'm glad you are already feeling better! I love the idea about tailor making your supplements and vitamins to your own personal needs. What a concept! The whole foods thing is really so essential- most of "regular" vitamin pills go completely undigested. That's why I use the liquid and/or spray form of vitamin D-3 and B-12, as I know they absorb more readily.
We'll keep in touch on all this...

I can feel your excitement.... I am glad you are feeling so good.
i just purchased an omega 8200 juicer and the book, Crazy Sexy Diet, both i have not received yet. i'm kinda anxious about it. the book is supposed to be real good and helps you to gradually change which i like that idea. i've a sweet tooth, as i used to smoke, so when i get stressed instead of smoking i now crave sugar. that's gonna be a biggie for me. good luck and keep posting with any hints or recipes. tess0 -

You go for it. Chemo will always be there if you need it and it all this works, you may never need it again!
Now ease into it, see how your body reacts and don't forget you can always get advise from Emily.

well, well, well now we can call you juicy jen!
Dear Jen,
What fabulous news.
I like my juices nasty and the greener the meaner! I have them mornign and night, except when diarrhea is happenign which recently has not been so bad.
I add broccoli, radish, cucumber, or beans or asparagus. Whatever is in the fridge thats green or mean is fair game.
besides my staples of beetroot, carrots and celery.
I also add ginger and or garlic a few times a week together or separately.
Often I make the wife and kids a fruit jiuce first, so I get a little dash or orange, apple and or pinapple as well, but not to much.
also been adding 8 drops cellfood to the juice mix.
So what did the naturopath sell me, heaps see my post.
enjoy your juicer,
Pete
ps one secret tip, which won't be a secret anymore. because my juicer is super duper, I can recycle the pulp back into it easily. so I do this and get a good bit extra juice. this works because my champion 2000 which just rocks compresses and shreads to get the juice out. after putting through the pulp once or twice, most of the time I have almost no pulp as output and about 700 to 1000 ml of great fresh vegetable juice.0 -
Excellent Direction Jenni
So glad to hear you have taken the plunge and will discover the benefits of correct diet and nutrition. Spread the love around. I have gone that way for almost a year now and am doing great. I am off all red meats and mostly vegan and on a rather long list of supplements, but hey ! all my previous health problems have gone and i have my 30 year old body shape back (I lost it 18 yrs ago).
I also have more energy and level energy all day, no sugar or coffee cravings, no headaches, no joint and muscle pains +++ It's all good. Keep going Jenni (and others here) and keep learning and improving your diet, eliminate the rubbish and replace with the good natural stuff. It only gets better and you are also stacking the deck in your favor now, big time. It makes very good sense even though the Docs still don;t get it. Spread the word Jenni, it needs to be told.
Go Girl.

Kale is the top dog and spinach is right up there.
I haven't juiced wheatgrass, but back then I was putting green powder into my juice that had wheatgrass in it. Freshly juiced is best obviously but not all juicers will juice wheatgrass.
Some folks juice broccoli but I had a hard time with that personally. I also have juiced beet greens. Try any green you can stomach.

Hi Jennie,
It sounds like
Hi Jennie,
It sounds like your doctor is the right one for you. I'm glad you like her and the suggestions. We have given up processed sugars for a while now & was hard to do at first. Do you know the reasoning behind cutting out the meat? My husband did that for awhile along with eating mainly fruits & veggies (mostly organic) and we saw no significant improvement in CEA although his scan looked good. I have been reading that it is essential to have meat to fight cancer because red meat specifically or even raw milk contains CLA? Plus the protien keeps your immune system up? I was just curious if you knew why no red meat other that it can be acidic. Why not fat? Do cancer cells feed on it too or just sugar? I know you're not a doctor yourself but if anyone could help me with the answer to these questions it would be great.
Here is the great news. My husband started taking herbs from a doctor who practices TCM and in December he had a chemo treatment and his CEA tested on the 3rd. He took a month off and his CEA on January 4 decreased. December 7.9 January 7.2. It went down essentially without chemo. It's hope! We like our chemo breaks. Hopefully his CEA this week is back in normal range. That would be awesome!

Hi Erin,
The meat issue is that meat (red, white etc) takes longer to digest and stays longer in the digestive tract rotting which can damage the intestinal lining. It also is devoid of live enzymes (unless eaten raw) so it takes our own digestive enzymes to break it down. That takes energy.
When the body is in a health crisis like cancer (any disease) it needs all hands on deck to heal. Eating raw foods in a juice form (freshly juiced organic veggies) is the easiest way to assimilate the most nutrients giving the body the extra energy it needs for cancer healing.
I might be mistaken about this, but I think the CLA you're referring to would be found in GRASS FED meat. So if your hubby is going to eat meat during this time of healing, it's optimal to eat the grass fed.
Every body heals differently and our needs are different. Some do better on a vegan or vegetarian regime and others need the flesh proteins. Perhaps your hubby can have a couple days a week where he abstains from animal proteins to give his digestive tract a break. It helps me to take digestive enzymes after eating meat. Maybe your husband could benefit from them as well. I also make sure that I have a ton of fiber for moving that meat out at a brisker pace. If you want to know how quickly foods are moving through, eat some beets and see how long it takes for you to get a red poop.
Hope this helps. :-)
That's awesome about your hubby's CEA going down!

Hi Jennie, you are great!I am so happy that you have seen the new doctor and you both have new plan for next.I also started to add supplements to my hubby's diet,at least started with Vitamin D and calcium.I hope all goes well for you.Take care.0 -
Yeah, girl!
I know EXACTLY how you feel...it was the same with me. One month i'm in a wheelchair and barely able to walk, the next month, i'm out walking the block with only mild pain, and tons of energy. It's unbelievable to me that mainstream doctors haven't figured this out yet.
Keep up the good work!0 -
going Wed
Hi Jennie,
Hey, guess what? I'm going to see an ND (naturpathic doctor) tomorrow (Wed) for the first time. It's at a center where they have a handful of holistic and naturpathic doctors. I've done many of the supplements on my own, but never actually gone to a naturpath before. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Thanks Emily,
That provides some clarification. You are right about the beef, the animals must be grass fed.
