ARE YOU KIDDING ME????!! This is ridiculous. He has been having problems for years they should have caught this long ago! I am ripping mad right now. Holy cow. Do you know if he has his cell? I'd like to call him tomorrow.0 -

That poor guy just can't get an even break -- unless grounds for a whopping big malpractice suit is an even break.
Prayers are headed his way.

That's terrible, poor Mike.
That's terrible, poor Mike. One of my Aunts woke up from a surgery and they had replaced the wrong hip. Unfortunately doctors are human and they make some pretty awful mistakes. I hope he gets well and starts feeling better.0 -

I work in a hospital, in education. I know the steps that are supposed to be taken to make sure this never happens. It's a detailed and complex process. Every single thing that's in the sterile field is counted and accounted for before, during and after the surgery, by more than one person.
In order for this to happen, someone had to lie about the count either during or at closing.
Absolutely shameful.
I've also know surgeries to last 45 minute after they could've been done because the count wasn't coming up right. The entire room stops and looks for the missing item as well as calling for a portable xray of the open field. They don't close until they've found it and every count matches.
This could explain alot of chronic stuff going on with Mike and the hope is that correcting this turns him on a healing path.
Prayers for that.0 -

I could echo everything Sweet wrote. Unbelievable. I am very supportive of doctors, and recognize thier humaness, but I agree with Delnative, this sounds like malpractice...perhaps on multiple levels.
Hoping the best for him.
Thanks for the update Hondo.

Can the poor guy not catch a break.
I am stunned to hear yet another hurdle for our dear friend Mike. I am furious to hear this is yet another cock up by Doctors and amazed how one man can be inflicted repeatedly by malpractice.
I'm sure Mike is more focused on surviving and recovery so he can be with his kids than taking doctors or hospitals to court but this is so wrong.
All we can do is hope and pray he will find a truly caring team to get him through this one.
Thoughts and prayer to Mike and his kids.
Hondo & Sweets please keep us informed. Your close attention is greatly appreciated from all here.

Up-date on Mike 1-31-2011
I spoke to Mike last night and they did some more testing and found that it is not left over stuff ( thanks goodness) but looks now to be that his intestines are twisted pretty bad in one spot. They are still not too positive as what to do about it. The plan today is for flushing him inside out and hope to get the knot undone.
I will keep you all posted as I hear from Him.
