Hi Joeline
Don’t change anything you are doing with your Dad, keep loving him and making him know you think the world of him. When it comes times for the biopsy just be there with him, and keep praying for him. My oldest daughter has been a strong support to me through all my treatments and continues to be so. I know it is hard not to worry, but until you have a pathologic report back it might be nothing, a lot of my PET scans came back bad showing something there, but when the doctors took a look they could not find anything.
All the best to both of you

Worry
Hi Joeline, welcome, and I'm sorry to hear your dad has a situation to deal with. Hondo has the best advice. It's easy to tell someone not to worry until the tests come in, but in our world it's the only way to go. Do what you're doing, and take it step at a time. I'm sure your dad is very grateful to have your support, and he will do his best for you.

ditto
both Hondo and Hal are right. As a caregiver myself, I have an absolute spaz everytime something new shows up. But 30 seconds into said spaz I remember there is no sense in getting all worked up until i have ALL the info I can. Only kamikazes can go into a fight with only limited info and one directive.
Deep breath in, hold to the count of 4, breath out. It's ok to be scared and think the worst. That's why you hope for the best and it usually falls somewhere in the middle.
Lots of hugs - let us know how things turn out.0 -

.....I've been in your spot as a caregiver. They found 3 sites in my husbands lungs during his treatment. It turned out that one was just a shadow from the xray. The other 2 were small masses, but the doc reassured us that it might not be cancer....he said the masses can be bits of ingested tooth from dental surgeries, an encapsulated fungus, etc. After a needle biopsy, it was discovered that Gary had an encapsulated fungus. He probably picked it up 20 years ago during basic training and never knew he had it. Just remember not to borrow worry from tomorrow, there's enough to deal with today.0 -

well we seen the doc and doc say 90% its cancer. its seem rather serious as the tumour already grow outside the lung. now waiting for date to do biopsy and likely to do more chemo which i don know whether my dad is about to take it or not. now we are looking into 2nd treatment example traditional chinese medicine..
this will be how i am going to spend my chinese new year0 -
