I like that one by Aerosmith.

I am sooooooo sorry I haven't been posting! Pat had a friend over since Friday, someone he has known for a long time. I have had such a good time listening to all the stories from back in the neighborhood, seeing Pat really get involved in the conversation, and having such a good time myself I just haven't been on.

Let me put it this way: I haven't had a 30 minute giggle fit in years. I had one this weekend. We both have had a good time. He considers his friend family and it was what he needed.

Otherwise, we are both good. Went out Friday night for the first time in months to do something other than what I needed to (i.e. I went into Manhattan for something other than doctor visits or the union hall)

So like I told a few other people - call off the search dogs. I'm back :)

I just hope it doesn't snow anymore. Gah.

    Wonderful!
So happy to read your post! Sounds like you were so ready for some R&R and you got it! That's the best, when someone here is enjoying life that they can't post!

Take care and keep the good times rollin',

Not to make you feel guilty, but
I had a good cry for you, figuring it had suddenly gone bad. I did hope that maybe you were having such a great time you were too busy to write, but I was afraid to say anything. . ..might have jinxed it.

So glad you had some good times - thanks for sharing so we can do the vicarious thing. My crappy day just got a whole lot better. Let those good times roll.

    Yay!
So glad you're having good days! Living in the moment and enjoying yourself is truly wonderful. Glad to know we lost touch with you for a short time because of a good thing!Too much doom and gloom in our postings sometimes make me forget that there is joy to be found in all things.

    good news is good
Glad to hear you are both doing well. Enjoy the 6-10 inches we're getting--ha--...I'm tired of trudging back and forth in the slush (to work and to the cancer center).

I hope Pat continues to feel well, and that you continue to giggle.

    NOW THESE
are the kind of moments one needs to get there mind off the darkness. I am really happy that you had such a wonderful time, and the giggle must have felt AMAZING :) I live in Illinois, and although winter is my all time fave time of yr, we are going nuts. Not a good time for my dad to be told he has cancer, so we sit around the house, and talk, and go out when he feels up to it. I am ready for spring, and i know my dad is as well, He loves the outdoors.

Keep the fun going, and send it our way as well.

    Hugs Missy

Happy to hear from you girl!
    Hey April,
Thanks for finally coming back! Guess we are all so used to hearing from you that when you weren't on here for awhile we all worried. Guess we're too attached huh? Anyhow hope Pat is doing okay! And glad to see you're in a good mood. But please don't stay away so long, okay?

    I feel . . .
like I'm living in a igloo. This is just awesome (imagine the sarcasm please :)) Missy and Mr Steve - Welcome to the family! Even though hubby is in hospice, I do my best to find the bright spots in the days. Yes we do get attached to each other, but for good reason. No one knows what we deal with on a daily basis, only the people that go through it do.

Keep your chins up, the sun rise comes each day :)

As for everyone else, SNOW CONES AT MY HOUSE!!!!!!!

always been my favorite. I'm done with winter now. To think I moved here for more snow. I'm such a silly goose. Missy, what part of IL? Used to live in Southern Illinois - SIUC area to be exact.

Gosh Steve, you're not from the Milwaukee area are you? That's what we've been getting, like only an inch at a time. Not complaining though since I have to do it myself now that my hubby passed away. So are you a caregiver??? Hope things are going okay.

    Never Had A Snow Cone

I can't believe I've never had a snow cone. They're at every fair and carnival. Why haven't I eaten one. Maybe I just like the creamy taste of ice cream better - chocolate is my favorite.

At least we got lots of rest
We had no power from Wednesday night until Saturday morning - Doug got really tired of us all checking to make sure he was warm enough. Actually, since we had plenty of propane and our special indoor propane heater (got it from Amazon last year after Snomageddon) we were pretty warm - all cooped up in the family room/kitchen (which can be shut off from the rest of the house). The main activity was checking the thermometer on the fish tank (they all made it) and thinking of reasons we should get in the car and go buy something. At least this year we could get out - last year we didn't get plowed out for about 4 days.

I think we'll go get snowcone syrup now - we certainly have enough snow left. When I was a kid, we used to use Zarex - does that still exist?

April, Glad to hear that you and Pat were OK and enjoying your friend. I am sorry to say that more bad weather is heading in. Usually I am happy about that as a skier, but not this season. Stay warm.
