unexpected vacation
Silver
That is the start of an unexpected vacation.
Enjoy and relax. The runway soon will be clear to lift off.0 -
OMG!!! ICU? Did they give you Cipro?
Cipro is a very powerful antibiotic, so, if you were resistant to it, that may mean that no antibiotics will do you any good any more -- not a good thing.
They gave me Cipro to use before and after the procedure. Same thing for the biopsy I had. Fewer holes w/the markers than w/the biopsy and I'm sorry to hear you developed such a serious infection from the procedure.
Hope the CK treatment goes much better for you.0 -
Sheesh
Silverfox, what a nasty surprise! So glad you're okay now. I think I told you how wary I am of those transrectal seed placement procedures. There is a small percentage of mishaps but when it happens to you it is a BIG deal. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the seeds don't move and they have to do it again.

Kongo and Swingshiftworker, Want to thank you both for your continued emotional support! As for the anti used, not sure if it was cipro. I had no issues with the biopsy procedure but must admit that by the time the last two markers where placed it already felt that something was wrong. According to the Uro that placed the seeds, I was his first crash and burn victim! Not much consolation for me! I had a full body scan completed today and will review them with my URO and my Radiation Oncologist. My Radiation Oncologist will re-evaluate my condition on my next visit. He does not want to start treatments until I am completely out of the woods in order to avoid starting and stopping the teatments. Will let you know how it all works out!0 -

Swingshiftworker and Kongo, Want to thank you both for your continued emotional support! As for the anti used, not sure if it was cipro, it did take the infection docs two days to find antibiotics that did work. I had no issues with the biopsy procedure but must admit that by the time the last two markers where placed it already felt that something was wrong. According to the Uro that placed the seeds, I was his first crash and burn victim! Not much consolation for me!
