Picked up My College ID

My onc asked when I wanted chemo, I told him on Fridays since that's the only day off I have from college. He then asked me why I decided to go to college. I said,
"Well, hell, since I'm going to live, I figured I might as well be further educated while enjoying my old age." He laughed, and said he was sure I was going to enjoy college and my life.
I went down today and had my picture taken and picked up my college ID, mind you I had to wait in line behind my son while he was getting his renewed. LOL. Felt good to do.

Hi Marie! Hope youre doing great! I loved your post...reminded me of when I started at age 23 after being married 2 years and having my daughter...I was so proud as I know you are. (o:
At the age of 23 I was still the youngest in my class of nursing students....I want to go back now for something else..just not sure what...wondered the other day if I would find myself the oldest at 44. ha
Maybe I'll sign up for the same classes as you....we could study together. (o:...don't know why but I always loved study groups.

    Cheers!

    Good for you!
I never did have a chance to go to college and started last year - one class a semester - following my 19 yr old to the admin building. I still have issues with memory as well as fatigue 1 1/2 years after chemo/surgery finished. I am loving the experience! Just haven't decided which direction to go so for now it is Liberal Arts!
    Hugs to you

    Liberal Arts
That's what I was originally going to take, and for some reason I changed to political science. Hoping the memory issues won't be too bad. I'm going full time, my son is picking the classes out for me, according to the counsler he picked the right ones, yea for him knowing what I needed. LOL.
I'm so glad your enjoying the experience. I very excited myself.
    Hugs back at you

What a cute story! Some of the people who were less motivated in high school become the best motivated later on. I bet you were a great nurse.

I wish you all the best...I tried going back to school about 6 months after Robert's cancer dx for billing and coding. I thought that I could apply myself, but I was too wrapped up with Robert's treatments and surgeries...
    You will do great!!
