After each Neulasta shot
which I got on Sunday mornings, I would have lunch and then sleep the rest of the day away. The worst days for me were Monday thru Thursday after the shot. I took Extra Strength Tylenol and oxycodone for the pain. I found it difficult to walk but I kept saying to myself, this is building white blood cells to keep me healthy enough to continue chemo.
You'll get through it, just like you got through the chemo. Remember to ask your onc about what you can take for the pain!
Good luck!!

Hoping for sure all goes
Hoping for sure all goes well with your shot today. I had to give myself my 1st one last Friday. My insurance doesn't cover an office visit for this.
I slept alot that day, thought it was due to the chemo. I'm chiming in on this thread, because I've been in pain all day at work - with symptoms noted here.... Lower back pain, leg & thigh pains. Walking us a bit painful. But it's all been doable - no fun, but ok thus far.
It's day 7 and had I not logged on here, I would not have thought about the shot being the culprit.
I wish you the best with this and hope it's not too much on you.
I appreciate everyone's input on all of these issues.0 -
Hi Dawne, I had a bit of
Hi Dawne, I had a bit of pain with neulasta, hydrocodone worked to combat it. Take it easy, don't over do it and remember it's helping you. I think someone said something on here once about claritin helping too. Maybe they'll stop by and verify this, not sure but I though it was mentioned. The actual shot itself didn't hurt me at all, it was the bone pain that followed the day after. Best of luck to you and let us know how it goes.

I got the Neulasta shot after each chemo (Wed) and had no problems. About 2 days later I would crash and sleep most the weekend. Hope all goes well.

side efforts from Neulasta shot (which I gave myself, here at home) .. flu like symptoms --back aches, terrible terrible leg cramps, jerks at night -spasms. What helped me and something that I've learned here on our board .. advil, and/or Benedryl tablet to off set some of the flu like symptoms.
Hope this helps ..

Thank You guys for all the good luck and advice. So far the only thing that I've had is extreme fatigue. I've been taking advil every 4 hours so I wouldn't know if I'm having pain yet lol. I really think I'm so tired because of the adriamycin. It started yesterday while I was getting chemo. I actually fell asleep during treatment & I've never done that before. I will ask my onc about claritin on Monday. They didn't mention anything today when I went for the shot and I had not checked the board yet.
Thanks again, as always you guys are awesome.

Glad it went well Dawne. Hope the side effects are not too bad for you. You're doing everything you can to beat this and it will soon be over. Take care. Pat0 -

It's good to hear you made it on thru without many problems. The Advil was a good idea. I took extra strength Tylenol twice yesterday - each time, my leg/back pains were minimized.0 -

With A/C they gave me oral benadryl and I never dozed off while getting it but I slept through all my Taxol - got the benadryl IV with it and as soon as it would start I'd go 'Nighty Night'. Would wake up 1/2 hr before it would finish.0
