hiya everyone, i was dx about 6 weeks ago with stage 4 breast cancer, on the 20th of Dec i had a double booby go bye bye surgary, i have had doudle rad for 5 days and start AC chemo on monday. to say the lessed iam scared out of my mind. i have lost my mother and father both to diff. kinds of cancer. the Doc. are saying none cureable however there is a chance i can watch my kids grow up..... that is what i pray and fight for. the hard part is it feels no one understands around me :( i dont know i just dont know grrrrr feeling very lost

    I am sorry you have reason to be here but since you do I am elated that you found us because trust me WE UNDERSTAND! Keep your chin up and strive to survive, everyday you survive is a day you get closer to them finding a cure. Big hugs!

    This a club that no one wants to join, but since you're here let's chat. I too am stage VI with mets to bone. This is no longer a death sentence many women have survived 20 plus years. This is now considered a chronic illness and as the medical community moves forward we could perhaps live to be a 100.
    This is a lot for you to absorb in a 6 week time frame, you have the right to be afraid. We have all walked in those very same flip flops. Take some time to breathe, trust your instincts, trust what your body tells you and take time to rest.
    Please keep us apprised and visit often.
    How old are your children? There are also support groups and on-line discussion groups to help your children work through this as well.
    I can't speak for the group, I am no expert however there are a lot of very wise women here that can help make this journey easier for you.

    I am sorry you had to find us but so glad you did. This is a wonderful place. All of the pink sisters here have felt the same way. You will get lots of support, understanding and information here. Don't ever give up fighting.

    We'll you've had a lot to deal with in the last 6 weeks, it's no wonder your mind is spinning. You've picked a good place to sort through it all. The people here are compassionate, supportive, and will become friends. Come back often and let us know how you are doing.

    Here's hoping you get to watch your kids grow up. Mine are grown but I did pray for that same thing when they were small and I was healthy back then. The best thing you can do is spend today making memories for tomorrow.

    thank you everyone for your kind words, my nameis Amie, I am married and my twin daughters just turned 16, i was there age when my mother was dx we lost here a year later. last year we moved back home to maine to take care of my dad, we lost him in may. so it has been a crazy year. thank you everyone for giving me a place were ppl understand hugsss

    Glad you found us. Like others have said, there is a lot of hope for stage 4 survivors these days. Many go on to watch their kids grow up and then some. Take it one day at a time, one step at a time and allow yourself the range of emotions you will feel without judgment. It comes with the territory, but the bad stuff usually passes. If you are younger, there is a great site for women diagnosed under 40 called www.youngsurvival.org. There you will find many women with young children. Good luck with everything and keep posting!
