    Hi, ladies. I'm here to
Hi, ladies. I'm here to find out info on endometrial cancer for my sister in law. She is 47 and was recently diagnosed with Endometrial cancer, stage 3A. Her sympton was a change in her period. From the exams she had, her uterus had a very thick lining.
Can someone tell me if the A is what is being called the "grade". Does anyone else have this diagnosis and would you be willing to share your story? I had never heard of endometrial cancer before her so I am completely ignorant in this cancer. She had a complete hystorectomy 2 wks ago. Nothing was mentioned about the appendix or the omentum. By the way, what is the omentum? She goes to doc tomorrow, Tuesday, to get the staples out and receive her chemo schedule. She will have one 6-hour chemo treatment per month for 6 months.
I want to thank all you ladies for posting and I wish you all a full recovery and that you will be back to living life to the fullest again very soon.
    God Bless You All,
    debbie

    had surgery 1/12/11
Dr thinks cancer contained in uterus did not invade muscle all removed might not have to do chemo/rad did robotic laproscopic in pain but very happy Ty all for prayers :)

Can't belive how good I feel after robotic lapro vs abdominal
I am walking good although can't bend down over my stomach to pick things up. Instead I have to bow my legs like a sumo-wrestler & lower myself that way.lol
All in all going great. I know my uterus was removed but since it was pulled through the vaginal canal thought I would have some post surgery bleeding but nothing.
Compared to the 3 traditional surgeries in past on a scale of 1to 10 the pain was 13. W/robotic laproscopic it is 3.

I have my first gyn-onco post surgery f/u tomorrow to get path report & staging. Hope her initial "got it all, no chemo, no rad" prediction is still true. :)

breast and uterine diagnosed at the same time
I don't know if you are still using this site but I thought I'd try. I have both cancers together. At first I was told it was stage 1 -3 uterine . I had robotic surgery for a complete hysterectomy. I was told no lymph nodes and was clear of that cancer. But within a month I was told it came back. Also I had a lumpectomy a 6weeks later. The breast cancer was very small . less than 2cm and no lymph nodes involved. and clear margins. Any ways, I'm now getting chemo ,taxotere and carboplatin. for the uterine. A pet scan showed a spot on my lung a a couple spots on my abdomen. I'm also on arimidex. So, I was searching for others that had both and survived. Your post gives me hope. I read someone said that it's not as uncommon as believed. I feel good and expect to beat it an ago into a long remission. I hope you are still doing very well.
