shoulder and neck pains after all cancer treatments are done
back of last april I had surgery done to remove one lymph node on the right side of the neck and the surgery was done by my ENT doctor and now after the cancer treatments are done I am having major pains in the right side shoulder and my neck hurts. My question is what doctor should I ask about this pain should I ask my ENT doctor? chemo doctor? radiation doctor? or just go to a family doctor?
Any advice would help out because I am tired of dealing with this pain.

Neck & Shoulder Pain
I had 4 lymp nodes removed aug 26, 2010, and finished 33 rounds of rad in November. I am having neck pain mostly. My Ent has me in Physical Thearpy 2/week for 4 weeks. I am just a little over 1/2 way through and it seem to help some. I am hoping as I finish thearpy for additional releif. Good luck to you.

Which Doc?
Last week, I had the same problem - trying to decide which doctor to call. For me, it was a painful sore throat - I ended up calling my ENT's assistant to ask at what point I should call a doc, and whether I should call ENT or GP - worked brilliantly for me - ENT's office phoned in a script for me, saving me an office visit bill.0 -

I say the surgeon. Mark had a radical neck dissection in May 2010. His neck goes through all kinds of phases of pain. Right now he is getting more feeling in his shoulder, but getting involuntary jerks too. From what I understand nerve regeneration happens over time. I am thinking his nerves that were cut during surgery are in a new phase of growth. Also, the cold weather has had a significant impact on how his neck feels. He finds stretching and the lymphodema massage to work best for managing his discomforts. (Yes, plural).

I get neck and shoulder pain too on top of the regular pain and stiffness my neck has on a daily basis. The cold definitely aggrivates it. I hate that pAin with the involuntary jerk. That burning nerve pain sucks.0
