    Ty, yes surgery is now 2 days a way. I just moved into new apt Sat. due to my apt. flooded. It is such a long story. I won't bore u all, but this apt. Complex is old & I have had numerous floods, 3 rd apt.they moved me to in 5 1/2 yrs., can't afford anywhere else especially having my dog. Hopefully this one is ok, they say it has been re-plumbed. Can't

    I am calmer but we are in a snow storm today.
    Hope it stops & does not turn to ice. If I do not go in I don't get paid, don't know how bad the driving is yet, hope it does not ice over or the surgery gets cancelled.
    I am sorry u lost your hair. I am sure it will come bk in just as beautiful. Mine is silver/grey also, stopped coloring 6 yrs. Ago. The back is salt-n- pepper & is darker. Just spent a yr growing out the layers, last trim was Aug. not going to touch it now till I find out stage & if they recommend chemotherapy or radiation.
    Do u wear it uncovered, wig or scarf/hat?

    had surgery 1/12/11
    Dr thinks cancer contained in uterus did not invade muscle all removed might not have to do chemo/rad did robotic laproscopic in pain but very happy Ty all for prayers :)

    WOW...within hours of having surgery you are sending messages...quite amazing! It sounds like surgery went vey well and we will await your final path report. Sounds great so far!

    Domina, glad you were able to have robotic surgery
    You will recover much quicker after robotic surgery. The preliminary report sounds good. I hope the final report gives just as good results. Remember you did have major surgery, even though you feel good, and don't over do it. Take care. In peace and caring.

    Ty for your encouragement, home from the hosp. In some pain but compared to abdominal surgeries I had in past, this is so much better.
    Waiting for the final staging & to hopefully hear all including lymph nodes are clear.
    Now the waiting, praying the doctors initial thoughts are correct. Peace to all.

I still feel weak and spend most of my time upstairs in my bedroom. I'm supposed to start radiation in February. I will also do vaginal brachy radiation and chemotherapy. My doctors are very positive. My entire treatment should take eight months. I just hope to make a complete recovery.

    Dear Sammy:

    So sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I know you just had surgery, but please try to keep busy and start doing things. You do not want to sit around the house or your bedroom thinking of things or waiting until you start treatment. The best way to make a complete recovery is to take control of your situation. Keep a positive attitude. When you didn't know you had cancer you went out and did things, etc. etc., and you didn't even know you had cancer. Now you should go out and do things knowing that they removed it. You can do this.

    Ty for your post. I have 5 laproscopic holes, the one in the middle is the biggest & hurts the most but is bearable. Did not even fill the Rx for pain meds. Tired but ok went to church today.
    Took a shower, washed my hair felt good.
    Go to gyn-onc on Thurs. for final path report/staging.

    I am so surprised I survived surgery, that was a relief plus my after surgery treatment might be zero, never expected that.

    I am very sorry to hear about your DX. Although you do have the next 8 months of treatment plans before you, the fact remains you ARE still here to begin those plans. I am glad you completed the first portion by having the hysterectomy taken care of on 12/29/10. Yes, it does take a lot of energy out of you but as each day goes by you will get alittle better. Please don't give up. You landed on the right site, there are many women here with the same treatment plans who can be of support. I do not have any first hand knowledge of chemo/rad but I can still be an ear or a shoulder for you. My prayers are with you. Remember we care & understand & are here. :)

    Hi, ladies. I'm here to find out info on endometrial cancer for my sister in law. She is 47 and was recently diagnosed with Endometrial cancer, stage 3A. Her sympton was a change in her period. From the exams she had, her uterus had a very thick lining.
    Can someone tell me if the A is what is being called the "grade". Does anyone else have this diagnosis and would you be willing to share your story? I had never heard of endometrial cancer before her so I am completely ignorant in this cancer. She had a complete hystorectomy 2 wks ago. Nothing was mentioned about the appendix or the omentum. By the way, what is the omentum? She goes to doc tomorrow, Tuesday, to get the staples out and receive her chemo schedule. She will have one 6-hour chemo treatment per month for 6 months.
    I want to thank all you ladies for posting and I wish you all a full recovery and that you will be back to living life to the fullest again very soon.

    I am sorry to hear of your sister's diagnosis. You are a very caring/loving sister to come here looking for answers for her. Please encourage her to visit here as well.

    Stage refers to how big & how advanced the cancer is & if it is contained in the original site of origin or if it has spread to other areas. The letters of a stage like A are sub-categories of the stage which give you an in depth understanding of the stage & where the cancer is growing. There are 4 stages w/sub categories. Look on Google and enter endometrial cancer staging & grading & it will give you info. on what they all mean.
    Grade is the appearance of the cancer cells as compared to the normal cells.
    I just had radical hysterectomy on 1/12/11 & go on 1/20/11 to get final path report & surgical staging.
    Only know so far I am grade 2. That means there are 3 grades. Grade1 means the tissues still look like normal endometrial cell until path doc looks at them & finds cancer. Grade 2 means before they even look for the cancer they can tell the cell do not resemble normal cells anymore they actually look like a cancer cell before they test it. Grade 3 means it's a sheet of cancer cells its hard to find any normal cells among them.
