Has anyone heard of or used the chemo pills? What about side effects? Hair loss?

    I take xolda. I take 6
I take xolda. I take 6 pills a day. 3 in the am and 3 in the pm for two weeks then one week off. No hair loss for me, super dry skin and I had this hand & foot deal which caused my hands and feet to be super red, hot and then peel thick layers off, my onc reduced my dosage and that went away.

what have they or are they putting you on?

    Pills for chemotherapy
While I had only surgery and intravenous chemotherapy for my form of breast cancer, I have a friend who had oral chemotherapy in addition to intravenous chemotherapy. She took Xeloda tablets. She did not have the just about complete hair loss that I had with AC/T. She had more problems with neuropathy than I did. Xeloda was approved in 1999 for several forms of colon cancer and metastatic breast cancer that has not responded to Adriamycin.

I have heard of it. I think
I have heard of it. I think it is one of the many, many options. I don't know which drugs can be administered in pill form and what circumstances would be necessary for a Dr. to recommend such, but it certainly does exist and patients to get chemo that way. Talk to your Dr. about your case. you can also look on chemocare.com to find out about specific drugs. You might get some helpful information that way.

    Take care, seof.
