Update on My Father
He will also have a full body scan to see what the cancer has been up to and if the chemo is working (he's been on a chemo break since Thanksgiving) as well as what may be going on with his arm that is causing him pain. He'll be in the hopital until late tomorrow or early Thursday.
Needless to say, my dad isn't a happy or pleasant camper. He HATES hospitals and can be a difficult patient! Poor nurses!
Please pray that they will find the source of the bleeding and fix it. And that they will find out the reason for his arm pain. I'm hoping for the best, but prepared for the not so good. He's been doing so well as of late! It's sad to see him have these problems. After all, most people wouldn't know he has anything wrong with him, he looks so good.
And so the rollercoaster ride continues. It really is hard, but what choice do you have other than to hang on, say a prayer and trust the Lord?!
I'm so grateful for this board and being able to vent. Knowing that I'm not alone in this journey is comforting. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts.
Sincerely,
Sally

Best wishes
Sally,
Thank you for posting an update on your father's condition. I've been tracking your news as your situation is similar to ours. Tom's hemoglobin is low and he is getting blood transfusions and iron IV. How is his arm? Is he still in a lot of pain? This is so awful.
I hope your dad's test results would not show anything scary. You are in our thoughts and we are wishing you and your dad strength and good health.

Thinking of you
I logged in to post that I was thinking of you and hope all went well the test today. Then, I saw your post. Try to remain optimistic. Even though he may not like being in the hospital, it is the right place for him now. Please keep us updated.
Sending lots of prayers your way,

I will keep you posted as soon as I hear what's going on.

Update on My Dad
My dad had a scope this morning. They found the source of the bleeding, which was around the primary tumor site. They used a lazer to stop most of the bleeding, but couldn't stop it completely. They are taking him off his cumodin(sp?) and other blood thinners so hopefully that will help. The doctors are also talking about possibly doing more radiation at the site to get the rest of the bleeding stopped.
My dad has gotten 4 units of blood thus far. It helps a little, but hasn't made a huge difference. His counts keep going back down. Hopefully is counts will slowly improve since they've stopped a lot of the bleeding and may just take a little time to creep back up! Let's hope so anyway!
He will be getting an MRI of his arm tonight to see if they can find out what's going on there. He should be released tomorrow.
Not sure what to think of his situation. Especially if they can't stop all the bleeding. Doesn't sound good though. I did actually talk to him on the phone. He mentioned how amazed he was how fast things can turn around and head down hill so quickly. Uh, ya! Maybe NOW he'll start to think about putting his "business" in order for all our sakes?! I just told him to take it a day at a time and make the most of each day.
Anyway...please pray that the bleeding will stop altogether and that his blood counts will go back up.
Thanks again for your prayers, well wishes and cyber hugs!
Blessings,
