Treatment
Only your brother can decide on treatment for himself. He has to make the decision whether his information given to him from the doctors is what he wants to pursue. You, nor anyone can make that decision. But rest assured, there are many chemo cocktails out there to help your brother and if one makes him sick then there is a drug to counteract it. If one drug doesn't work, there is another one that might. Don't look at this as a black/white situation as now even the most desperate situations can be helped. Hope he gets the best possible treatment for his situation. Also John23 always has helpful info and many others on this board. More are more knowledegable than me by a long measure.

It's a tough choice.
You can read about some of the alternatives, and print the data
out for your brother to read. There are many alternatives to
choose from; some work, some might, and some....??
I have used Traditional Chinese Medicine, in the form of
medicinal strength imported Chinese herbs that I had to make
into a broth. That was about four years ago.
I won't try to tell you,. or anyone else, that it is why I am still here,
but if I had taken Chemo, the physician would be telling you and
everyone else, that it was thanks to the chemo for my existence.
Your brother has time to read and study the alternatives, and he should
take that time to do so. He'll have to question everything, and be as
critical and cynical as possible, to sort the good from the not-so-good.
Click on my name, and read the "blog" section. Print out what you
feel like (if at all), and give it to your brother.
Cancer is an elusive malady. It's probably the simplest of life-forms,
yet all the newest medical science seems to manage to miss finding
a "cure" for it.
My personal opinion?
Poisons are not the answer. It's a resolve of sorts, but it won't
cure the real problem; only your own body can do that.
Help him get all the information he might need, it's worth his time
to read it all.
Best of health to you both.
