What The ????
Good thing is that hopefully it has been caught in time and surgery to remove the kidney will be all the treatment needed. I am bummed because I'm just starting to recover from the chemo. I'm so tired maybe if I take a nap I will wake up and realise I was just having a bad dream.

OMG! I can't believe this! I am so sorry to hear that you now have to go through more s*^t. I am so sick of CA I could scream. I just can't believe that they found this. Ugh---and now a surgery. I feel for you Colleen. You are in my thoughts today. If it were me I'd take me a big ativan and then I'd go to sleep and hope it was all a bad dream.

This is just not right. Is it a wholly separate cancer or a mets from the original cancer? I am so so sorry.
It wasn't a bad dream , darn it ! It is a totally unrelated cancer and actually it is better news than having the ovca recur so early so I shouldn't complain . But I think I will complain anyway !
I wonder do they sell ativan in bulk? I'm fine now but as the surgery date approaches I will need them. It could have been worse at least there is a back up kidney. My surgery is set for Jan. 17th

They don't usually use chemo for kidney cancer unless sometimes for mets but if my tumor has not spread, not likely since it would have shown on the scan, the only treatment will be surgery then just watching in case it does spread. It does stink but if I had to chose between a recurrence of ovca this early or the kidney ca I would have picked the kidney. I am just blown away that I have two deadly cancers that are so hard to detect early ! Thanks for the support

Colleen:
so sorry to hear your news. Some days I am afraid to even get on this sight, but thank god for the wonderful women we speak with. There are times that I feel the whole world is Cancer. Not fair, all victims should picket Washington for more $$ and a cure. NOT, been there done that, falls on deaf ears. Be strong (again) and remember you are in my prayers as I'm sure is ditto for all our women.

Colleen, you'r right...this sucks! My neighbor was recently diagnosed with OC at age 73 and found out she only has one kidney. All these years, and her an RN, and she never knew! At least you have a kidney to spare. Small consolation, I know, but you know the parable about "I cried because I had no shoes til I met a man who had no feet", right?

Hi Colleen
So sorry to hear this. That really is strange.... to develop a second cancer out of the blue like that.... It just seems too coincidental. I know they say it's not related to ovarian .. but how can they be 100% sure? At any rate, I love your feisty attitude. Good luck with surgery . We'll be keeping our fingers crossed. Hugs, Cindy0 -

I'm so sorry to hear this Colleen.
Every time I turn around it's more cancer, more cancer ....
Nevertheless, this is unbelievable but don't let this news break you.
I hope and pray that you will get past this also.

Your support means so much to me,I feel like someone has pulled the floor out from under me. I read the scan report when I went for my pre-op appointment. There is a borderline area in some nodes in my neck that could be a met from the ovca, or the kidney.
This changes the outlook completly.
I can't talk to the dr or nurses til monday but I am disappointed that she didn't tell me exactly what was on the report. I want to know the good the bad and the ugly.I thought she knew this but I will clear this up in no uncertain terms. I trust her with my life and believe she will do whatever she can to help me live so if I can find the courage to put my life in her hands she can have the strenght to dish out the bad news.
I went on the kidney cancer board and there are courageos helpful people there but this board is unique. It feels like home. there is such aconnection with all of you and the information is phenominal. I would be a basket case if all of you were not here to vent to and support me. I hope I can return the love and support when any one of you need it.
I will take a day or two to grieve then put on those imaginary 'Big Girl Pants' and keep fighting the good fight !
Love to all !

geez!! WHat the heck is with the neck nodes? You are the 2nd or 3rd person I heard with that. Can you feel or see the nodes? I asked my Onc about ovca spreading to the mouth area because my BIL died of oral cancer. My onc said he has only seen it once in all his years working.
What kind of surgery are you having? Do you have any pain in the kidney area?
GOOD LUCK!!!!!0 -

Hi Collen! I'm so sorry what you have to go through again (((COLLEEN))). Me too, I like to know all good and bad from my result of test. Some body told on this board, doctors not volunteer information, you have to ask and ask and they most time not have time to discuss it with us. I go myself to medical records department and ask for copy of my MRI,CT and other. It is could be scared to read it. My last CT scan, after reading it bring my blood pressure up to 103/156. So you do what is better for you. Love you. Be strong. I wish you good luck whith every thing, Zina.0 -

I am sorry to read your post. When you think you have been dealt a bad hand, then there is another one lurking under the table. Lets all hope the surgery is successful and that you will not need any more treatment.
