Ask if you can go right in for an MRI of the Breast it's pretty easy and they can see alot more that a mammo. I get them once a year for the BRCA 1 mutation. Hope everything turns out well.0 -

But if it's the best way to find out what's going on, then I know you'll grin & bear it. Maybe not grin!
I don't have much to squash, but the last time I had a mammogram I was having my period (yeah, a while ago!), which made it excruciating. I'll be wincing right along with you, Medi, and hoping for good results,

Medi...wonderful piece of work you have as a pic now. Did YOU do that?
I know next to nothing about breast cancer (although mom and three aunts were bitten by it and sis still survives it), but do know the feeling you describe as calm. It DOES seem weird, but I think after awhile we either expect good news or realize, at the very least, that it is what it is, we learn to lower our anxiety level over time, perhaps even our expectation level.
In any event, I wish you the very best with the results, my friend!

Same experience
I just went through the same thing in December. I went for my annual "squishing" and they found "something" and scheduled me for another mammogram and ultrasound the next day. It turned out to be nothing but naturally I was worried, especially since they got me in so quickly. The good thing is I got the results the same day so I didn't spend a week worrying like I do with my CT scans.
I'm hoping that your biggest problem this week is the broken washing machine - LOL!!! I shouldn't laugh because I went crazy when mine broke and had to go to the laundromat for two weeks while it was being fixed

Thanks everyone! I knew you all would make it better. I will ask about the MRI. They have scheduled me for the squishithon the 19th. Hopefully that means that they are not that worried...xoxoxox

Thanks for the compliment! It is from a photo of Frida Kahlo, but the Joan Crawford spectre keeps popping up...if looks to me like a composite of the women in my family...

I can see the Joan Crawford reference, Medi. With all due respect to the ladies in your family, and I am only guessing, of course, what I see most is anger, frustration, bitterness, and worst, a sense of resignation, that this is what I must deal with in life, my anger, my bitterness, my frustration.
Resignation, something I do not consider often, but perhaps among the toughest things to deal with, not quite hopelessness but a sad acceptance of what is, like it or not.
Anyway, I love the work, Medi.
I continue to be hopeful that your results turn out well.

And keep the good thoughts coming...I get results next week. I almost ran out on the test yesterday because they could not get an IV to stay in(the old 'blowing veins' thing). At one point I pleaded to go home but NO, they were not done with their torture.
Just drink another cup of glop!
