Went to see Matt's oncologists today for the first time after his liver resection in December. He was so impressed how well he has done & healed. He also told us he his NED in his liver with his path report coming back with negative margins. YAY!!!! I thought he would discuss next about chemo/radiation but he said he may be ready for colon surgery! He will discuss with Matt's liver & colon doctor & we will go back to oncologists next week to find out what we do next. I will feel a lot better once we get all the cancer out of my husband's body & they can do all the chemo they want to do.... LOL!!! Anyway, i wanted to share our GREAT news with everyone... The power of prayer, love from our family & friends is what has gotten us this far!

    Great
This is great news and you should both rejoice over this. This is a new step in the right direction of being NED altogether. Sounds like your doctor has a great plan ahead. That is great news. Keep us posted.

    Hi Amber,
    At DX we were told

    Hi Amber,

At DX we were told Matt would more than likely not be resectable. But he had a awesome response to chemotherapy & his tumors shrunk to they were not very visible on his scans. So he had 8 lesions removed in wedges & 2 tumors ablated, due to they were to close to his main artery down the middle of his liver. Surgery was 8 hours long & he did great during. Recovery was not bad at all. We were out of hospital within 6 days & he did lots better when he got home. He came home with a drain & 32 staples. But they didnt his bother him to much. got them removed a week later. He has started back his exercising & getting read for his colon surgery. Good luck to you!

    colon surgery
my surgeon, who thought he was just removing a large ovarian cyst, discovered my colon cancer during surgery and removed it doing a colon resection. that was october 4 and as of my ct scan monday the colon is clear. if matt has surgery, expect no passing of gas for several days, 5-6 for me and bowel movement maybe a week out. also expect more pain especially if they distend the pelvis with gas......omg, bad but temporary. thanks for your response to my question, i am keeping up my exercise too most days.
