Liver Biopsy Results--Good News

I went to my gastroenterologist today to get the results of my liver biopsy two weeks ago. I had the biopsy because of persistently high alkaline phosphatase levels that started during chemo. I'm stage IIIb, with colon resection surgery in August 2009 followed by 12 treatments of Folfox that ended in April 2010. Naturally I was especially concerned about the possibility of mets to the liver.
I was so relieved today that it was nothing but good news. The biopsy showed an essentially normal liver with minimal fatty liver changes. The lab work done at the same time showed that my alkaline phosphatase levels have fallen to just two points above the normal range. My gastroenterologist believes that the high alkaline phosphatase levels were due to chemo and are now returning to normal range.
So I'm still NED 9 months after finishing chemo!
