This site, internet speed

Is anyone else noticing that this website is being really slow on responding or loading? I click to get a new page or thread, and it says loading for way too long. Sometimes I've just canceled. I'm not having that problem on other websites all over the place, they are normal and fast, I have high speed internet.

Is it just me?

    No. I have that problem from time to time. If it gets slow I just leave and come back later.

    I am an I.T. consultant and webmaster, I work with computers. I think someone who manages this discussion site needs to be informed. There likely is a problem which needs to be fixed.

    I'm looking for the right contact... ? ? ?

    It's slow everyday for me...
    So I also get tired of waiting and I go to a different site and return later, it's slow then too.

    I sent a note to the CSN Feedback
    Over on the left, is CSN Feedback. I sent a note explaining the problem to them. Hopefully someone will get it.

    If you're new to this thread, and have a problem, please post. Hopefully they'll look here. If they see our comments, it should help them.

    And it happens often. And it's absolutely only this CSN site. And it has been happening since I joined, it's not new. Some times are worse than others.

    Thanks for bringing this up and reporting it, Kathy. I've actually been meaning to post something, but always felt they'd say it was either my ISP or computer. I didn't think so but am not savvy enough to argue. I hope it can be fixed because it's really annoying.

    I was noticing the extremely slow speed tonight also. It is very frustrating. I am not a very patient person.

    I thought it was just our internet connection at home which is satellite. But I'm at my son's using a brand new laptop on high speed cable and I agree, this site is very slow in responding.
    I wonder if it's the traffic using the site. Would have to wait till there are not many people on it and try then.

    I thought it was just my computer but I am glad to find out it is not.

    Thanks to everyone who has reported having a problem. The more members we know about who are affected, the higher priority status will be assigned to the trouble ticket submitted to the IT team.

    Thanks for your patience as we investigate the situation and take appropriate corrective action. Could be a quick fix or a more complicated one. Might necessitate taking the site down for system maintenance and/or upgrade. If that happens, it will be scheduled for middle of night or wee hours of morning when traffic is minimal.

    Never hesitate to send me an email (just click on the CSN Feedback link in the list of navigation links on the left side of each CSN page or the Contact CSN link in the top right corner of each page). Or you are welcome to start a discussion topic, such as Kathy has done here, to gather information from others regarding a technical problem you might be having. We review discussion board posts daily.

    Greta, thank you for responding via email and here on the thread to my note. I'm glad you can have someone take a look at it. Just ask us later to re-check the speed if you need us to.

    Greta is so responsive, it's great. Don't get me wrong, this site has been a lifesaver for me in the past and I have a lot of respect and admiration for those who run it and moderate it. However, I have to say that as a bulletin board, the site is very outdated, cumbersome, and needs a major face lift, IMO. I know that in the past, experts have offered to donate their time to design a better site, but CSN has responded that they like things the way they are. That's fine, but I'm just saying, it could be better. OK, I'm done.

    This site has really been slow lately. Not sure what is going on. Hope they can fix it soon.
