PAIN.....
Reading about all these sisters losing their battles hurts so bad.
What are you all taking for physical pain? I've tried everything over the counter with no luck. I'm so sick of it....

pain
The onc has given me all kinds of pain meds, vicodine, hydrocodine, and even morphine (sp???) but all I take is otc Motrin I hate taking pain pills and only do if I am really really in pain. I hope you get some relief soon.
There is nothing to releive the pain in our hearts for our dear departed sisters.0 -
Mama G
I am so sorry about your pain. Please don't loose your fighting spirit.
All our hearts ache but also the love that is pouring out makes my
heart sing.
I used Hydrocodone and it really helped but I am sure my pain was
nothing compared to the pain that you must be in.
Mama G, my heart aches knowing this is all I can do for you.
Love,

CALL YOUR DOCTOR!
Anytime there is any pain to do with heart or lungs Dr should be called immediately!
I've been very lucky with having basically no pain other than the atheritis in my back thats been there for years, though it has gotten worse. Most of the time I just take Tylenol (generic extra strength) but when it doesn't work on my back I take Vicodin. When I was having bad pain pressure around/behind right eye, even Oxycodin didn't do anything but Dexamethasone took it right away - after taking it daily for 10 (or was it 12) days the pain was gone and hasn't been back since. I do have enough left just in case it starts again to get through a weekend til I can see my PA.

Mama G... so sorry to hear
Mama G... so sorry to hear you are in pain. Please call your doctor and let them know. I am sure they can prescribe something to give you some relief. Over the counter stuff is ok, but if its not working, it's time to go with something stronger.
God bless.

I too am sorry you're dealing with so much pain. I hope your dr can offer something to relieve it. As for the heart, we all ache for each other. It's difficult for us who can't offer anything but our best wishes for a brighter tomorrow. I have dealt with arthritic pain for several years now and see the rheumatologist tomorrow for some much needed injections to knee and at a later date my lumbar spine. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear you are having so much pain. Make sure to call your doctor tomorrow and let them know that the over the counter drugs aren't working. Hopefully, they can give you something that does work.

Mama G, have you told your doctor about the pain you're in? Why do these things have to happen on a weekend/holiday time when the medical practice's normal routine is not happening? I'm so sorry to hear about this. Please call your doctor's office first thing in the morning. In the meantime, all I can offer is my prayers which you've already got.

Lidoderm patches for lumbar spinal stenosis and arthritic knees. They do help but are temporary comfort at best.

Don't Suffer
Hi Mama G,
Please don't suffer. I took Oxycodone it worked wonders. You may need a stool softener though. I don't think there is any need for anyone to be in pain like that. Call the doctor, no need to suffer! We all have our limits to pain, I have a high tolerance but needed medication just the same, only take it when you need it.

I take oxycodone and I was on Oxycotin for a time. Although sometimes I feel like I need something stronger, but they do take the edge off the pain. I go to pain management. Nothing over the counter works at all!!! and nothing works for a broken heart0 -
Am so sorry...
... for your pain, Mama G. Especially in addition to everything else you're dealing with. In specific answer to your question, my own med onc strongly recommends OTC Aleve. If needed, dosage can be doubled to equal "prescription" Aleve. I try not to "double" the dosage too often; but, do if I really need to.
I keep you close in hopeful thoughts, always. And am sending my best wishes for the healing of your heartache.
Kind regards, Susan0 -

I am sorry Mama G for the pain you are in. Please do call your oncologist and have him prescribe something for you.
I take prescription Ibuprofen 800mg, when I have some pain, and, it works.

I was so glad to read your post. I too have pain, knees, legs and feet. I have hydrocodeine pills leftover from surgery, but I am trying to get off of them. They help me relax at night so I can sleep uninterrupted from leg pain. Nothing over the counter works for me either. I see my dr. next week and will discuss it with him.
Pain that is unresolved is so depressing. Am I correct to feel that taking one hydrocodeine pill at night is not good?? I'm so confused.
Thanks0 -

I'm so sorry that you're in pain and it takes over your life. I've had back pain for many years and was given Vicodin and it worked for me. I got shingles a few weeks ago and the pain was so excruating(?) I wound up in the ER 2 days in a row. I was prescribed Oxycodone and that helped. There's no need to suffer pain with all the pain relievers that can help. I worried about getting addicted but that hasn't happened. If you haven't called your dr yet, please do. Hoping the best for you and praying that your pain goes away quickly.0 -
