great news!!

i called hospice about 3 weeks ago for Dad. i second guessed myself for a few days, but now, i am SO glad i called them. now that the chemo is leaving his body, he's eating and drinking more, and he actually laughs out loud now! but the best of all....he's going out for a little while this afternoon with his friends!!!!! he's played the upright bass in a bluegrass band since i was a little kid. every new year's eve they play at a hotel in Frankfort Ky and he's going with them this afternoon to set up all of their stuff. he's not able to play music but he still sings. I AM SOOOOO FREAKIN HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pretty much makes me wish we had never done chemo, but hindsight is always 20/20! bear in mind, my dad has not been out of the house since April, unless it was to go to the doctor, so this is really substantial to me. and yes, hospice is great! really takes a load off of my mind. even though he never complains of pain, it is a relief to know that there is always someone i can call, that doesn't involve the ambulance or the doctor that is seeing dollar signs! so, for now, i will gladly take this QUALITY OF LIFE!!!!!!!!
