Really scared - Is this the beginning of the end?

I'm very worried and scared. Had to make a doctor appointment for my husband today. He's very very weak (because he isn't eating) and he says he has trouble eating because his stomach gets full right away. He's extremely thin (now around 100 lbs - maybe less). He's having a lot of face pain from the shingles he had which is making things worse. I have a feeling we are going to go from the doctor's office to the hospital.
I'm afraid this is the beginning of the end. There's no way he'll start chemo on the 6th. His body won't be able to take it. The cancer has already spread a lot. The chemo would have slowed it down and maybe shrunk some tumors. It might have given him several more months. I don't think he realizes that he's dying or he's just in denial. He won't talk with me about anything.
Please say a prayer for him.
Thanks,
Skipper

I am sorry for your husbands
I am sorry for your husbands suffering. I know that it is difficult to watch someone you love suffer. The scariness of it all can be overhwelming. Make sure your husband keeps his doctor's appointment. Can you write down all of his symptons and your concerns for the doctor? Do you think you can aTtend a support group for additional support?
I truly pray for peace for you and your husband.

I lost my husband Nov.
I lost my husband Nov. 23,2010. Our situation sounds similar in that he would not talk to me either. He also had to stop his chemo.I also wondered if he realized the seriousness of his situation. I finally made peace with the fact that it was his way of dealing with it. He was a very strong man who ran his own business. The thought of dying was not what scared him, it was the thought of leaving his family behind. I finally let him talk about whatever he wanted when he wanted and never pursued the dying issue unless he wanted to, which never happened. Try to remember the most important thing is to tell him you love him and give him as many hugs and kisses as you can, that is what they really want and need. I will pray for both of you and am so sorry for the pain you are both suffering.
