God Bless William Marshall
He has helped many who are getting better, and many more find peace and serenity with our time left. He helps us all keep up the fight.
Hallmark cards has a few special books that records the readers words. Last night, as I have for six years, I read the night before Christmas to my two young grandchildren and today I give to them the Hallmark book copy with my recorded voice. This may be the last time I will read it to them, but the memory will be there for them and my children forever. I am blessed with the time to say goodby.
My life and others has been blessed by the care and support that William Marshall has offered all.
Merry Christmas William,

Dear Keith
I was just reading your post and am so sorry that you might think that this is your last Christmas with the family. My husband has recurrent esophageal cancer and is now on cisplatin, taxotere and Xeloda( pill form for 5FU). He has had a hell of a time with the chemo and his prognosis is not good says the surgeon but I'll be damned if I believe him. I am truly disgusted with many of the drs out there.I have sent all of his records to Dr. Luketich in Pittsburg along with all of his Pet Scans. He phoned me once and also his P.A. has called a few times. Right now they want us to continue with the chemo and after that, (Vince has 2 more cycles)then we will see. I will never go back to Emory in Atlanta again as the surgeon basically told us inoperative, incurable and maybe chemo would give him some time. I was devastated as I was all alone when he told me. We live 2 1/2 hrs north of Emory in the Georgia Mts. My husband wants to live so badly but the chemo has really kept him down. His recurrance has gone to the lining of the pleura and the lung so things don't look good. He has gone from a healthy runner, non-smoker and non-drinker to a 45-5- pound weight loss, no energy etc.
I will not give up and I just pray Dr. Luketich can give us a glimer of home. I have heard Dana Farber is very good so please try to think positive.
We have been to hell and back and then back to hell again. It is so hard on everyone . I also take care of my 90 year old mother and she has not been well. She lives with us. So to say the least life has been hard BUT I truly pray we can all be stronger than this beast of a cancer. It has sucked the life out of us for so long but now I am really furious with it.
You take care and do what it takes.......

Hi,
Thank you for your kind note of encouragement. I hope and fight for the best and plan for the worst. I have always been a tough competitor, and I still am. I have second opinion on January 3ed at Dana Farber arranged by my former business partner who had done a great favor. I am not satisfied with Tufts at this moment and spend my time studying and learning. I have brought my pain and probably depression under control. And with that I have a lot more energy for the fight and challange of making sure I have the right people reaching the right decisions. My family and My Love have been wonderful to me and push me hard. That has strengthened me. So have your kind words and this site.
I have a large tumor on my lower esophagus that extends a bit below the Gej joint. There is one cancerous polyp in my stomach and some spread to nearby lymph nodes. Further tests do not satisfy me that there is spread to internal organs and soon tests will examine uncertainties in my throyd and two spots that Lit up in the PET scan in my rib and elbow (that was recently injured). A biopsy will confirm my elbow next week. A few days later I meet with Dana Farber. For me, I need to see exactly what doctors see to fully accept their conclusions. In a few cases so far, their fears seem unfounded and in one meeting they described the wrong bone to me. Only the radialogist has actually seen and written a report on the PET scan and that report is somewhat different then my onocologists has said to me.
You story encourages me as do many others here. Nothing will please me more then to add a note to The Night Before Christmas when I read it next years. But I am in a moment of grace and treat every day as if it my last and hope to do so for years to come.
Thanks for your note
