one year ago today
I think "I should call Mom today." And then I remember.
I see things you'd like and then I remember.
David graduated from OCS-you'd be so proud. He's so handsome in his uniform.
Mike got his cancer diagnosis in July. Its round 2 for me as a caregiver. I wish you were here to kiss my forehead and tell me its going to be okay.
I miss you terribly, Momma.

Oh Penny
My heart goes out
Oh Penny
My heart goes out to you my friend. A year ago today I was in the hospital with my dad suffering with liver bile duct cancer. He passed in March. This December finds me in the hospital again with my mom having 4 bypass surgery and a mitral valve replacement. Two weeks post op she is in the hospital again with fluid on her left lung and anround the bottom of her heart. This is round 2 as being a caregiver also. I would not change it for the world. You are not alone. Thinking of you. May your mom and my dad rest in peace now, and celebrate their first Christmas in Heaven with no pain, no suffering, and no Damn Cancer!!! Keep in touch.

A year ago for me also
It was one year ago that all our troubles began with Tom. Thought it was just a back strain, then found out he had 2 fractures in his spine and then the shocking news that he had lung cancer that had spread to his brain & spine. We were now on the road to misery which of cours was short, cause he was taken suddenly from me on March 25th. I have been doing pretty good until yesterday and now keep having crying spells. Probably cause it's getting closer to Christmas and also it'll be 9 months ago that day that I lost him forever.
I know how much you miss your mom. Mine died in 89 from Pancreatic cancer. She only lasted 2 months after her diagnosis, so that was a shock too. And it was on Dec. 15th right before Christmas. I still wish so many times that I could just call her up and talk to her to have her tell me it'll be okay. This disease has touched so many of us and I hate it. My hubby's niece is in home hospice right now with pancreatic cancer, so I know any day I'll get the dreaded call. Well guess I better stop now.
Please give Mike a hug from me & tell him to keep fighting!!! "Carole"0 -

I'm trying to remain positive and grateful, but I'm so darn tired! I'm just really really sad and angry. I'm so thankful that we have this board to support each other, but its such a shame that it has to be because we're going through or have gone thru this hell. So many of us are going through this rodeo more than once and it just seems so &%$#*&# unfair!0 -

hey Pennymac
I agree it is unfair, but it is also God's way of teaching us many lessons. We have all learned to be more patient, more loving, more caring, more understanding, more able to accept those things we can not change. You are doing an excellent job, keep your chin up and keep fighting the fight. Thinking of you often. Stay in touch.
