I was at a Christmas party and talking about my mom's smoking with a doctor. She said "have you heard about thirdhand smoke?".....

I'm talking to mom today....smoke outside, etc...no, she's 87 and will not quit....sigh...

    No, not any more....
    2 years ago the government put into effect a VERY strong anti-smoking policy:

    NO smoking in public places (including bars and restaurants). No smoking on some beaches (many are following suit).

    And, believe it or not, for the most part (not all...lol), the dutch have complied. This is stronger than California's statutes, and yet within 6 months of enactment, most places were and are now competely smoke-free...

    And, as the saying goes, "you can always tell a dutchman, but you can't tell him much", alot of very vocal countrymen (and women) have joined the cause!!!

    Here January 1st finish completely , until now we had smoking
    areas in certain restaurants bigger than 100 sq meters, smaller not allowed ,but from now completely forbidden in any public space,but also forbidden in the street near hospitals, schools, and some other places that now don't remember! the funny thing is : what's the manning of near? nobody clarified yet! hahahahahaha!.Spain is different !LOL.
