Merry Christmas

This is the time of year I do a lot of reflecting back. I know many of you are just starting the tough fight and many have finished the hard treatment that this disease brings us to. My heart goes out to those going through the treatments this time of year, I know how hard it is physically and mentally since my treatments started on December 1, 2008. We had to stay 45 miles away from home, trying to travel home on the weekends. The week before Christmas we got hit with a bad snow storm and got snowed in and couldn't get home for Christmas. That saddened me since all our granddaughter's presents were at home and we didn't even get a tree or a single decoration up that year.

As I reflect back though there was so much I learned about "ME" during that time. Today I might have my aches and pains and things I have had to learn to live with from the treatments, but I learned just how tough I really am. I learned that having my family near me, with me, and their love surrounding me is truly the best gift we can give anyone anytime of year.

My prayers and thoughts go out to each and everyone of you on the board here, to those just starting the treatments that you will find your inner strength, the bond, and love that family and friends can bring and that no matter how hard the road may seem, that you know with all your heart that you will beat this. For those of you who have finished the tough road of treatments, that you continue to recover, the side affects continue to get better with each passing day, you continue the road of good health, and you never lose sight of the inner strength it took, the bond and love that family and friends gave you and continue to surround you with.

    Thank you, Debbie, you said it so well. Dealing with this has changed my life, it made me stronger among other things. I also learned to appeciate family and friends even more and became more compasionate and understanding with people suffering from this, or any kind of illness.

    Hoping everyone has a joyous Holiday This forum has been so valueable to me I only wish I had found it before my treatment, but it has helped me get through all my new norms. Those of you just starting your treatment stay strong it does get better. I wish everyone good health and happiness.

    I wish you all the best and hope for so many blessings in the New Year!
    This is the first Christmas in 3 years cancer hasn't been looming over me. I am so thankful to be here this year and to experience such a beautiful year in our new Winter Wonderland in Central Oregon. I have NEVER seen so much snow, and I LOVE IT!!!!
    All of you going through it, there IS light at the end of this tunnel!
    Be strong all and NEVER EVER EVER give up HOPE!!!!
