I just had a mere 2 month
I just had a mere 2 month chemo break and my CA 125 went from 18 to 79 so it's back into chemo I'm sure. I have an appointment tomorrow with my oncologist. What a nice 2 months though.
I think if there is a recurrence before 6 months it could suggest the disease is chemo/platinum resistant? At least that is what I have read and that is what has happened to me. But there are probably more knowledgeable people on this board than I. But I've heard of people on constant chemo for years and they are doing ok. That is what I hope for. I have never had a fungus though.

My CA-125 was at 21 after 8 carbo/taxol treatments, then just 2 mos later it was 49, then next month 314, next month 720...back on chemo. My opinion is it was never really gone. I guess it just needs another stompin' down!

That's what I think about me.. it was never really gone or got resistant. Before this my last 2 CA125s came back at 18.0 -

I had a two month break also and I agree, it wasn't really gone. I'm now participating in a clinical trial -- hoping to give my body a break so that I can continue on with chemo. Good luck!

I had a 7 month break and then my CA125 went from 34 - 79 - 1280............so back on chemo. I agree with most of the ladies. Our cancer can't be cured but it can be kept stable or dormant by the chemo. Its just a case of finding one that suits you and that works well. So far for me it is carboplatin / taxol.
Its just a new way of life and lets embrace it and enjoy every day

Absolutely Tina. I agree with you completely. Management. My doctor surprised me with let's wait til she looks at a CT scan to decide what to do. So CT scan on the 28th. We shall see. My hope is that it'll be an operable lump that they can just get rid of. :-)
The chemicals that worked for me were Taxotere/Avastin although that combo was very hard on me physically. I'm glad you are feeling better after your hospital stay.
I wish all you dear ladies on this board a peaceful, magical Christmas.
