Update on my mom

So today marks a week since my moms first chemo treatment. Next one isn't scheduled until new years eve (this is where I'm thankful alcohol doesn't affect chemo lol) and that will start the day one and day eight intervals. I had to leave before her dr mentioned what her CA125 is so when I talk to her today I'm hoping she remembers what it was. She didn't want to know what stage she was at, or any numbers. I think it's because she would fight for her life no matter what the prognosis was. I think it's a good attitude to have, but at the same time, I think she should know what she's up against. Since then she has found out the stage, but is leaving all the other stuff up to my dad and I.
She was feeling ok on sunday, then monday the puking started, followed by bone pain and major fatigue. She ended up having to go to emerg on tuesday to get rehydrated. Now she's taking zofran 8mg and is feeling tonnes better! She even got up and baked some muffins and made scalloped potatoes for dinner on wednesday!
On a side note, are there any ladies here from Canada? If so, could you recommend a way to go about finding my mom and dad some counseling? I really feel that they would benefit from it. My dad watched his mom pass away from cancer and this seems to be stirring up a lot of memories for him.
You are a special bunch of women. I don't post much, but I'm reading all the time. The stories of inspiration and survival give me something to look forward to, and make me feel "part of". Thank you ladies from the bottom of my slightly heavy heart for all that you do

Not from Canada but just
Not from Canada but just wanted to lend my supports and thoughts in terms of you and your Dad and having to watch this happen. I think what caregivers go through, esp. family members is one of the more painful aspects of this horrible disease. A family mkember caregiver just wants to take away all the suffering, no matter how manageable or severe, and they feel so powerless to do so. Good luck on finding some counseling...great idea. Where I am the cancer centers/hospitals usually have social workers attached to them and many families start there. Good luck, Susan0 -
