SPOT ON LUNG

SPOTratface said:CT vs. PET , Debbie's suggestion
Depends on the size of the spot. Something Mike needs to find out. Also the location is important. The PET scan is not very good below 9mm. If anyone has held a 9mm bullet in their hand they can get an appreciation for the size of that. Above 9mm PET can detect. However the CT can tell you if the spot is calcified or not which is a huge deal in ruling out cancer. Calcified is good. Mike please let us know and post more particulars. hopefully you live in the Midwest?
THE RADIOLOGIST CALLED THE SPOT SHAPE AS "GROUND DOWN GLASS" IN APPEARANCE.
I DO LIVE IN THE MIDWEST (ST. LOUIS)

Solitary Pulmonary Nodule
My wife has had a Solitary Pulmonary Nodule, which hasn't grown for over 5 years.
I believe that a that a very large percentage of adults have spots on their lungs.
However, each individual is unique; and it will either grow or not grow in your case.
I must add that my father lived for five years after surgery for lung cancer, continued
chain smoking and ultimately died from other reasons.
I have been treated for laryngeal cancer, and worry about lung cancer for myself. But a
diagnosis of lung cancer isn't the end, by any means.0 -
PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS HEADED YOUR WAYHondo said:Hi Mike
Sometimes it just seems like we can’t beat this crap, before you can get one thing out of the way here comes another. I am just getting over this pain & infection in my head and now I am having problems with my eyes going dark. I can’t wait till I get to heaven and get my new body, all I know to do sometimes is to pray and believe me my brother I will be praying for you that all it is, is just a spot.
Hondo
Hondo, you were put on this earth to perservere and overcome. You my friend are a shining example of your faith combined with good medical science.
You have overcome your initial cancer, discovered the root cause of your ear and head pain, and the eye issue willjust be yet another little thing to look back upon when your journey to beating the beast is complete.
BEST!!!

LUNG FRECKLEadventurebob said:Believe
Hey Mike,
I'm going to believe and pray that it's just a spot until I hear diffently from you. Probably just a lung freckle or an interior beauty mark.
Bob
I love "lung freckle" and "interior beauty mark" I will have to borrow those in the future.
As of today, all is good. My scans have checked out good with both ENT and Thoracic Surgeon today. Now the long wait for the PET on FEB. 21st.
BEST!!

You were very fortunate, as I have been in the past. Last year they discovered 5 nodules. Three on one lung and two on the other. I've had one ct scan since and apparantley there has been no change in them. However, now I have been diagnosed with tongue cancer. I just had another CT scan with contrast today and am waiting to see how that turns out. I'm praying it has not gone any farther. Keep thinking positive and the best to you. Bubbins
Bubbins, I hope you hear good news from your scan. I just saw my Thoracic Surgeon today, and all is good with my Chest CT and my Neck CT. Now just the wait until February for the PET Scan.
Take care
