Canadian gingerbread house
So happy, his mother tends to let us see him every weekend for a couple of years and then all of a sudden, she stops it, as some sort of punishment, and then like this last time, over a year has passed. We haven't seen him since before last Christmas, but this year we get to pick him up on the 18th and have him until the 3rd of January. This last year she claimed it was because my son had a son that lives with him, claiming he would treat his older son wrong. Gotta love the crap another thinks of. Yes, I admit, we did not tell her I was having surgery on the 20th, but his Dad (my son) and his dad's fiancee are perfectly capable of taking care of his son.
So we bought a gingerbread house for him and I to put together, and we looked at where it was made (we thought for sure the USA, but nope) it's from Canada, Ontario.
Nanuks have us beat there!!!
Oh well, I just want to thank the Canadian's for my precious moments together with my grandson.

Great Christmas!
Sounds like you are in for a great Christmas and my hunch is, once you are home from the hospital, knowing your grandson is going to be sharing the holiday with you, you are going to find yourself recovering faster than anyone thought was possible
As for the Gingerbread House... if you and your grandson have a wonderful time putting it together AND it tastes good, then I'll join Canadians everywhere saying, "Ya... we are known for our Gingerbread Houses " (ok, that's news to me, but if your Gingerbread House from Ontario turns out to be great, then we claim victory!! BUT, if it tastes like kaka and is missing pieces... then I'll blame Anne and Maglets ... they are both from Ontario!!
