I know I haven't been here for awhile....potty training puppy takes alot of time LOL.
Damn, I forgot how much work the little buggers are between the sweet moments :)

My poor arms seem to suffer regardless, needles from chemo, blood work, maintenance and puppy teeth! Oh how I wish for the day when bleeding is not so often LOL.

Well Sue, congratulations on being done..........WOO HOO!!

    Hi Beth,
    Yes...today was my final round. I slept most of the time which made the day go fast, even though I was there for 6 hours. I was a little disappointed when my onc said he wasn't going to schedule my CT scan for 5 weeks. He said he wants the chemo to run it's course and then get the scan. My next appointment to see him is in 6 weeks..(Jan 25th) and said he would read the scan to me then and see where I'm at with this cancer. So...no remission news before Christmas, but I'm ok with that because I don't have to go back for chemo or take that nasty pred(after this week). I'm going to spend the next 6 weeks resting and getting the healing process going. I posted a picture on my expressions page making my last trip from the restroom at the clinic. Feels great to be done, but I am oh soooooo tired, not just from the pre-chemo drugs...I was draggin butt going in there today, just like John and Mary said I would. Yes...puppies are alot of work when they are little, but eventually they mellow out and just become a peaceful member of the family. You take care Beth and be careful with bumping, bruising and bleeding...not good, but sadly, part of the whole process of having cancer. I think Vincristine causes thin blood if memory serves me right. I get blood bruises very easily and they just look awful. Anyways...be careful,

    I guess the onc. is right waiting to let the chemo run its course and waiting the 5 weeks. It's so hard to wait I know. Now I know you will be in remission for sure. You want to know how I know,right? Well, because the 25th of January is my birthday...No sh*t,it really is. So don't worry,even though it is hard not too. You will be feeling a good bit peppier by that time too. Now get some well deserved rest and put your mind at ease. Congratulations on the final round. I HOPE THIS DOESN'T PRINT 3 TIMES.     hahaha! Whats the odds I get my scan read to me on "your birthday"!! Too cool. I hear twilight zone music palying..do you?..hahaha! For sure "now" I will need to be told I'm in remission...wouldn't want to ruin your birthday! Man..I am one tired puppy...just like you said. I slept practically all day and tonight I'm still draggin butt. The great part?...I'm not EVEN feeling the nasty pred side effects..(yet). Usually by now the pre-chemo meds are all worn off...but not so far. I'm hoping to sleep tonight...we will see! Tomorrow will be a whole different story...I'm sure...ha! Thanks for all of your warm wishes and thoughtfulness...greatly appreciated John.
    Gotta wee wee..Bye for now...dang...forgot about that happening all night now...ha!..

    So happy for you that you had your last treatment! Bummer that you have to wait 5weeks for the results, but with your positive attitude you'll think of ways to fill the days. Plus there will probably be a lot of naps in there!! haha Congratulations!!! Keeping you close in my prayers.

    Sue - Fran here. I was thinking about you yesterday and am SO happy to know it's over for you! Way to go. I remember having to wait for the scan that long too, but at least it gives you another month of drugs doing their thing. My Dr. said it takes a full 6 months for the chemo to pass from your body, and that long to regain your normal or original strength back. So con't expect too much too soon! I pray your results will be 100% Remission so you are finished with all this for years!

    Thought I'd be in chemo on the 14th too for my 2 days (M & T) but 6 counts were way too low so they couldn't do it. Had our lunch packed, blanket, etc. and it was a big disappointment to be sent instead for 2 days of Neupogen shots. They worked, counts sky high today so chemo will now be tomorrow (Thurs.) and Friday. Interferes with Christmas plans big time, but that can't be helped. Merry Christmas to you and all my new friends this year on this site!

    Fran,
    Those blood counts can really throw a wammy in the works. At least they are up enough now to get your chemo treatment. I know it is really putting a damper on your Xmas plans, but we have no choice in this matter.Good Luck today and will be thinking of you. JohnFNHL-1-4A-5/10)

    So sorry your blood counts were too low to get treatment on Mon & Tues...bummer! I guess I was lucky with my blood counts staying good and not having to get the shots or miss a treatment date. Each one of us re-act differently to the treatments is all I can figure. Maybe in the next 7 days before Christmas you will start to feel a little bit better. I know for me it's usually 7 to 10 days after the infusion before I can really say I'm feeling somewhat normal. Well..you are at treatment today and tomorrow so I will keep you in my prayers and good thoughts.     Crazy up and down blood counts
    Fran, I too deal with those fluctuating blood counts and I have to deal with those nasty Neupogen side effects not to mention I also had one blood transfusion for my RBC. I too must get 2 Neupogen shots a week (from a low of 300 to a high of 480 mg.). I will be thinking of you in hopes that all these treatments would treat you gently and that you still will enjoy your holidays and resting as well.

    Sue, just close your eyes to those upcoming scan results til 2011 and just rest and enjoy yourself! Be thinking of you!

    Hi John, Sue, Liz - thanks for all your positive thoughts. Yes, we must stay positive if we're going to make a dent in this disease. My two days are over and tomorrow will tell the tale of if it will be the same as last time - a week in bed. Dr. is trying a new steriod that's 20 times stronger than Prednisone (can you even imagine that, Sue? Know how you hate that drug!)but a low dosage for 5 days. He hopes that will help my symptoms not be so severe this time.
