Pain in jaw and tooth

I've just started radiation with only 8 treatments under my belt. My surgery was in the floor of my mouth on the left side. I am experiencing pain in my jaw and my tooth closest to the surgical site. Has anyone experienced similar pain in their jaws or teeth during radiation?

    Yes. I get short little aches in a couple spots maybe once or twice daily. Haven't talked to docs about it but we both probably should. I'll ask when I'm in today and get back to you. You're a quarter of the way done. Nice. You're doing good!

    I did not have any pain while in treatment but a lot after the treatment ended. Check with your doc and you might also want to see your dentist, possible tooth infection. Also one thing you need to be doing everyday is to keep trying to open your jaw as wide as possible do this two or three times a day. I was never told this and can’t open my jaw more then ½ inch.

    Well thank you sir! Right back atcha!! I see 2 doc's next tuesday Dr. Eisele my surgeon and my radiation oncologist. I'll ask them also. Shelly

    Good advice as my jaw is pretty stiff. I had a check up right before I had radiation and the guy did a a full scan of my teeth, but I don't really trust him. So your right, I'm going to ask the doctor at my next appointment. Thanks for your advice! Shelly
